Eric Nam was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the USA in 1988. He spent his childhood and part of his adult years there. He spent his education in the Lovett School in 2007 and also Boston College in International Studies (Asian Studies).As a boy who loved singing and adventure, he joined the Atlanta Boy Choir and went to Italy to perform. He even spent a year studying abroad at Peking University, Beijing, China. Then, he was offered a business analyst position at Deloitte Consulting in New York City but he decided to pursue his passion in the entertainment industry.Before becoming popular, he consistently displayed his talent in singing by uploading videos on his YouTube channel. Later on, he got invited to South Korea for an audition and appeared in many singing shows and competitions in South Korea.

In 2011, he joined Star Audition: Birth of a Great Star 2 on MBC. Eric Nam surprisingly got into the TOP 5. Cool! His YouTube cover of “Lonely” by 2NE1 also became a big hit.
