Life and Career
Kim Min-ji made her debut in the entertainment industry through the MBC drama “Here He Comes” in 2008. Not long after her first drama, she starred once again in one of Hallyu’s best dramas, KBS2’s “Boys Over Flowers”. In this drama, Kim Min-ji took on the role of Jang Yu-mi, an antagonist who shows up in later episodes of the drama. Not only is she a capable actress, Kim Min-ji is also a talented MC. From December 2010 until October 2011 she was the MC of KBS2’s Music Bank, a music program that regularly aired every Friday. Along with Hyun Woo, a fellow actor, they became Music Bank’s MCs by singing IU and Seulong’s hit single “Nagging” as their inauguration song. Kim Min-ji proved to be a well-rounded star by joining “Preserve, Goo Hae Ra”, a music drama by MBC. In one of the episodes, Kim Min-ji together with Min Hyo-rin, the protagonist of the drama, danced to AOA’s “Miniskirt“. Although she was well known enough as Kim Min-ji, she changed her name to Seo Min-ji from 2013 to 2016. She became even more well known during these times, taking on more roles in dramas and getting endorsements. In 2015, she starred in MBC Every 1’s “Midnight Girl” as Min Se-ra, the main female protagonist. In this drama, she acted alongside Nam Taehyun, a member and the vocalist of YG’s boygroup Winner. Nowadays, she changed her name back to her birth name, Kim Min-ji. Recently she starred in the drama “Rich Man” alongside EXO’s Suho, Ha Yeon Soo, and Kim Ye Won. Apart from starring in dramas, she also acted alongside Jisoo, a fellow actor, in the music video of Gugudan’s “Perhaps Love“.
