1. The Duo – 2011

The Duo is the inaugural drama Choi Woo-Shik debuted in as an actor. The drama is written by Kim Woon-Gyung and directed by Im Tae-Woo and Kim Keun-Hong with 32 episodes aired by MBC. Woo-Shik played the supporting role of the young version of Gwi-Dong which was later cast by Lee Sang-Yoon. The drama is about two boys born on the same day, Chun-Dong, played by Chun Jung Myung, and Gwi-Dong. Chun-Dong was borne by a maid named Mak-Soon in a beggar village, while Gwi-Dong was borne by the wife of a wealthy official named Kim Jae-Ik. Kim’s wife died while giving birth to Gwi-Dong, so her family looked for a mother for Gwi-Dong. Finally, Mak-Soon, played by Yoon Yoo Sun, became the foster mother and left her son in the beggar village. Chun-Dong, left by his mother, cried every day because of hunger. Unable to bear the sight any longer, Seo-Dol takes Chun-Dong to meet his mother. Mak-Soon, who can not bear to see her biological child suffering, eventually exchange Chun-Dong and Gwi-Dong.

2. Living in Style – 2011

After succeeding with his debut on The Duo, Woo-Shik again participated in a comedy-drama in the same year, Love in Style. The drama was written by Moon Young-Nam and directed by Hong Chang-Wook with a total of 51 episodes that were aired by SBS. Woo-Shik plays Na Joo-Ra. Living in Style is about three families and their intersecting attempts to make it in the world. In the first family, Mo Sung-Ae, played by Lee Hyo-Chun, struggles to overcome the difficult hand-life of her two children. The Choi family is an affluent family dealing with the recent loss of their patriarch and a mother trying to retain control of her late husband’s assets from her stepson. Choi Shin-Hyung, played by Ki Tae-Young, her biological son and chosen successor, is forced to choose between fulfilling his mother’s wishes and losing it all for her longtime girlfriend. The Jo family is a middle-class family led by patriarch Jo Yong-Pal, played by No Ju-Hyeon, a building security guard who loves Mo Sung-Ae. 3. Shut Up Family – 2012

In 2012, Woo-Shik re-participates in a KBS-themed drama. Shut Up Family has 120 episodes written by Seo Jae-Won and directed by Jo Joon-Hee and Choi Sung-Bum. Woo-Shik plays the lead role of Yeol Woo-Bong. Woo-Shik along with former members of SISTAR Kim Dasom and Park Seo-Joon managed to make this drama have high ratings every episode. This drama tells the story of Woo Shin Hye, played by Hwang Shin-Hye. She is a widow who lives with her mother and two daughters. 4. TEN Season 1 and 2 – 2013

After participating in dramas with romance and comedy, in 2013, Woo-Shik decided to participate in a drama with crime, mystery, and thrill that was aired by OCN. The drama, titled TEN, was written and directed by Lee Jae-Gon and Lee Seung-Young with 12 episodes. Woo-Shik plays Park Min-Ho, the new detective. This drama is about Ji-Hoon, played by Joo Sang-Wook, who is the leader of the Special Affairs Team TEN, suddenly disappearing. The other members of Team TEN, Do-Sik, played by Kim Sang-Ho, and Ye-Ri try to uncover Ji-Hoon’s intentions. The members of TEN chase after the serial killer known as Murderer F.
