She a very productive supporting actress, especially in Lee Joon-ik’s Hope (2013), where her role as a young mother won Best Supporting Actress at the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards; as well as The Himalaya (2015), for which she won Best Supporting Actress at the 52nd Paeksang Art Awards. She was also cast as a thief in a hit cable drama series, Balas 1988 (2015). Ra has also been praised for her leading role as a North Korean defector in the indie Dance City Jeon Kyu-hwan (2011), with Variety calling it “stunning” and “outstanding performance.”  She also played one of three leads in the black-comedy drama Avengers Social Club, which attracted high ratings.
