4. Suzy Criticized by Reporter

Suzy held a showcase entitled ‘Faces of Love’ and of course many reporters came and asked questions. In this solo comeback Suzy was expected to get questions about Miss A and her relationship with Lee Min-ho. Given Suzy has been waging her career as a celebrity for nine years, the reporters were hoping that Suzy would give her best answer to the questions asked. She spoke up about Miss A: “Miss A broke up after 7 years of promotions. This time, the same as last time I released my solo music, I’m really nervous because it’s a new attempt. So I decided to be more tough. Unlike when I promoted as a group, this is the type of music I want to do in my own color. I think this is a chance for me to grow more.” Unfortunately public expectations were not met. Reporters complained that the former member of Miss A was not being professional in her answers to the questions in the interview. The complaint was made in articles such as ‘Suzy, reporters will not bite or harm you’ and ‘Is love so hard for the 25-year-old Suzy? What an embarrassing showcase’. According to the reporters, Suzy answered all the questions but the answers did not match the questions asked. Suzy also gave vague and indirect answers to the main points of the questions posed. Apparently, Suzy herself realized this. Lee Min-ho’s former lover apologized for not being able to give the best answers in accordance with the wishes of reporters and the public. According to the reporter, the questions asked about Lee Min Ho and the dissolution of Miss A were not even that heavy. “I’m sorry for not being able to give a satisfactory answer,” responded Suzy. But 7 years later, in 2017, Miss A announced that they had officially disbanded. This decision was taken because only two members, Suzy and Fei, were left. Jia left first in 2016, followed by Min who did not renew her contract with JYP Entertainment. Firstly, the breakup of Miss A seven years into her career, with Suzy choosing to extend her contract with JYP Entertainment, is a challenge for her solo career. Thirdly, with the dissolution of Miss A, Suzy feels this is her chance to grow as a new artist. Fourthly, Suzy cannot explain in detail why Miss A broke up and the other members did not renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment. She thinks it’s embarrassing.
