Park Yoon-jae’s Profile
Park Yoon-jae is an actor who was born on January 14, 1981. He has currently signed a contract with Hunus Entertainment, the agency of K-POP Star Kim Sohee, who is now being promoted as a member of the rookie girl group ELRIS. He is known for being the brother of actress Chae Rim, who married Chinese actor Gao Zi Qi. He majored in Theatre Studies at Myongjin University. Although he made his first appearance in The Coast Guard movie in 2002, people actually got acquainted with his name in 2011 thanks to the drama Indomitable Daughters-in-Law. As of now, he doesn’t seem to be active on any social media platform, he seems to have neither an Instagram nor a Twitter account.
Park Yoon-jae’s Filmography
As said before, Park Yoon-jae made his debut in 2002 by making an appearance in The Coast Guard movie. The movie was directed by Kim Ki-duk and told a story about military atrocities and the absurdity of borders and conflicts. The movie depicts a very deep story and it even brought the FIPRESCI Prize, NETPAC Award and Town of Karlovy Vary Award to the director. In this movie, Park Yoon-jae got to play the supporting character, Private Yoon. The same year, he also appeared in the MBC television series The Maengs’ Golden Era, playing Choi Kyu-young. After that, he hadn’t appeared in any movie or drama for five years. He returned to the big screen five years later with Bravo My Life, a remake of Kaisha Monogatari: Memories of You, which was originally released in 1988. In this movie, he also played a supporting character. The year that followed, he got to appear in the MBC drama Spotlight, together with Ji Jin-hee and Son Ye-jin as the lead characters. In this movie, he again played the role of a supporting character. After this role, he moved to act in a movie again, appearing in Fly High as one of the character’s friend. The spotlight started to shine on him in the year of 2011, where he starred in two dramas, New Tales of Gisaeng and Indomitable Daughters-in-Law. Thanks to the latter drama, his name started to gain public acknowledgment and even brought him an award in the MBC Drama Awards for Best New Actor in a Serial Drama category. He was also a nominee in the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards for Best New Actor (TV). After his work in Indomitable Daughters-in-Law, he appeared on screen again in 2012 with Tasty Life and Faith, dramas aired by SBS. Unlike his character in Indomitable Daughters-in-Law, his role in these two dramas is that of a supporting character. A year later, he made an appearance in three dramas, two of which significantly increased his popularity. In 2013, he acted in three dramas, namely Your Lady, Love in Her Bag and Shining Romance. Quite different from the role he had the previous year, in these three dramas he was one of the leading characters. For his role in Your Lady, he was nominated at the SBS Drama Awards for Excellence Award, Actor in a Weekend/Daily Drama. He was also a nominee at the MBC Drama Awards for Top Excellence Award, Actor in a Serial Drama for his role in the drama Shining Romance. He returned to the screen again in 2015, starring in The Invisible Lady Cha drama. He also received more love for his role in Unknown Woman, a drama that was aired in 2017. Recently, he has been scheduled to appear in the new KBS drama Move, Fate, together with Son Hye-rim as his co-star, which is in the process of script reading.
