DAY6’s Albums
DAY6 has released lots of quality songs. Up until March 2018, they had released 2 mini albums, 2 full albums, and 12 singles. The 12 singles came from the Every DAY6 Project 2017. The Every DAY6 Project 2017 was a project where DAY6 would release two songs every month for the entire year. The project ended with them released their second full album called “Moonrise” and they held a concert called “EVERY DAY6 Finale Concert – The Best Moment”.
DAY6’s Mini Albums
THE DAY
At this time, DAY6 has released two mini albums. The first mini album is called The Day. It was released on September 7, 2016. It came with six tracks with lyrics written by DAY6 members, and they also composed their own songs. The title track for this album was “Congratulations”. Congratulations’s Music Video was released on the same day as the mini album. The Music Video has already hit 16 million views on YouTube. The album ranked 6th on the Gaon’s South Korea Weekly Album Chart, and ranked number 2 on Billboard’s US World Albums. The Day mini album came with the CD, photo book, clear cover, and a lyrics page.
DAYDREAM
Daydream is DAY6’s second album mini-album. It was the first album released after Junhyeok left in Febrauary of 2016. It was released on March 30, 2016. It came with six tracks, Letting Go being the title track. All of the members contributed to this mini album. They wrote the lyrics, and also composed the songs. The Music Video for Letting Go was released on March 30, 2016. It has surpassed 10 million viewers on YouTube. The package of DAY6’s Daydream mini album includes the CD, a 60 page photo book, 1 page Live Day Event Card, and a poster. The album sold well, and charted number 4 on Gaon’s South Korea Weekly Album Chart. It also ranked number 6 on Billboard’s US World Albums.
EVERY DAY6 PROJECT 2017
On December 29, 2016, DAY6 announced their year-long monthly song release project. They kicked-off the new year with a project called “EVERY DAY6”. Starting in January, DAY6 continuously released two tracks every month of 2017. Not only did they release two tracks, they also held two concerts before the release of the single, from January to December. As a special for September and October, they held three concerts.
EVERY DAY6 JANUARY
DAY6 started their “EVERY DAY6” project by releasing their January single on January 6, 2017. The single consisted of two tracks written by themselves. They also participated in the composition of the tracks. On the same day, they released the Music Video for the title track I Wait (아 왜). It has surpassed 12 million views on YouTube.
EVERY DAY6 FEBRUARY
This time, unlike the previous title track, DAY6 choose a ballad rock song for the title track. They released a single that contains of two songs written by DAY6’s bassist Young K. The Music Video for You Were Beautiful (예뻤어) is a continuation of their debut Music Video Congratulations. The second song was My Day. On June 7, 2017, DAY6 announced that MY DAY is DAY6’s fan club name.
EVERY DAY6 MARCH
On March 6, 2017, DAY6 released a single for the EVERY DAY6 Project. The single contained two songs, and the title track for the month was How Can I Say (어떻게 말해). They promoted the song on Korea music broadcast. They started the promotions on M! Countdown on March 9, 2017.
EVERY DAY6 APRIL
DAY6 were back for their EVERY DAY6 project on April 6, 2017. They released two songs. DAY6 are well known for their breaking up stories and sad lyrics. For this month, DAY6 chose a happy song about being in love for the title track. It is called I’m Serious (장난 아닌데). They did promotions on Music Show for this song.
EVERY DAY6 MAY
DAY6 released their EVERY DAY6 project single on May 8, 2017. This time, the date was different from their previous EVERY DAY6 releases. They released the Music Video for the title track Dance Dance on the same day. Dance Dance is an uplifting song that makes you want to dance. This month DAY6 held a concert at Starfield Coexmall Live Plaza on May 11, 2017.
EVERY DAY6 JUNE & SUNRISE
Every DAY6’s June Project, with DAY6’s first album “SUNRISE”, was released on June 7, 2017. The album came with 14 tracks, including all 10 tracks from the previous Every DAY6 projects from January until May. The other two tracks were the final version of Congratulations and the rebooted version of Letting Go. The album sold 33,000 copies in Korea.
EVERY DAY6 JULY
DAY6 came back on July 6, 2017. They released their single for Every DAY6 July, which consisted of two songs: Hi Hello and Be Lazy.
EVERY DAY6 AUGUST
Every DAY6 August was released on August 7, 2017. They released the Music Video on the same day. The title track What Can I Do (좋은걸 뭐 어떻게) boasts an upbeat sound with rock elements.
EVERY DAY6 SEPTEMBER
On September 6, 2017 they released their Every DAY6 September project. Just like the other Every DAY6, the single features two tracks of different genres. I Loved You is the title track for this month. The genre of the song was soft rock. The Music Video for this month was the continuation of the August MV What Can I Do (좋은걸 뭐 어떻게) .
EVERY DAY6 OCTOBER
Due to the Chuseok Holiday, DAY6 released their Every DAY6 October project on September 29, 2017. The Music Video for the title track When You Love Someone (그렇더라고요) was the last continuation of the August and September Music Video.
EVERY DAY6 NOVEMBER
DAY6 had been working non-stop, they were releasing two songs every month. For this month, the single was released on November 6, 2017. The title track All Alone (혼자야) was a slow and relaxing song. It was an acoustic.
EVERY DAY6 DECEMBER & MOONRISE
DAY6 wrapped up their Every DAY6 project with their second album “Moonrise”. It was released on December 6, 2017. This album came with 18 tracks, including all 10 tracks from the previous Every DAY6 project releases from July until November. The remaining tracks were three songs for Every DAY6 December, and five tracks which were the final versions of their debut album “THE DAY”. The title track for this album was I Like You (좋아합니다). The album charted number 2 on Gaon’s South Korea Weekly Albums Chart. The physical album came in two versions, the Gold Moon Version and the Silver Moon Version. DAY6 had been working hard so hard for the entire year. They said that although they released only two songs every month, they actually wrote and composed more than two songs. After they were done, they chose which songs they were going to include in the single. They earned the nickname “dependable DAY6” because of their Every DAY6 project. After the project ended, DAY6 held an encore concert called “Every DAY6 Finale Concert – The Best Moments” at Olympic Hall on March 3 and 4.
UNRELEASED SONGS
DAY6 released a lot of songs in 2017. But actually, they still had other songs which went unreleased. The unreleased songs came out in their concerts. The members wrote the lyrics and composed the songs themselves. So far, they have performed 8 unreleased songs. Here is a list of DAY6’s unreleased songs: My Days (DAY6 fan club name) are waiting for the studio version of these unreleased songs. But no one knows whether DAY6 will ever release studio versions of those songs.
