Monday Couple Moments on Running Man
Running Man is the longest-running variety show in South Korea, which began airing on July 11th, 2010. The variety show shows hilarious antics and great chemistry among the cast members, Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Seok-jin, Haha, Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, Lee Kwang-soo, Jeon So-min, and Yang Se-chan. And it is also known for the infamous Monday Couple, the love line between actress Song Ji-hyo and rapper Gary of Leessang. The Monday Couple began to form since the early days of the show; Gary as a newcomer in the variety show, fascinated by the beautiful actress Song Ji-hyo when he first met her. He always interacted shyly toward Ji-hyo. The two stars were finally alone for the first time in episode 10.
Since then, their sweet, shy interaction during that episode caused fans immediately to fall in love with the pair. Another fellow cast member Haha, has observed that they both have become close during the show filming together every Monday. Just a few episodes later, the two got even closer to each other and Song Ji-hyo also once said that on Monday, she has a man.

In episode 32, where members were on a mission looking for a book, suddenly Gary was surrounded by female employees and got lots of cakes and chocolate. Seeing this, Ji Hyo was immediately jealous and pulled Gary from the crowd of women saying “It’s Monday so Gary is my man.” That was really sweet.
In episode 163, the show tells the story of Ji-hyo, the only female member who became a queen and the Running Man cast and three other guests, Daesung, Seungri, and G-Dragon of Bigbang, tried to win her heart. They fight each other’s teams to drive cars along with Ji-hyo. For that, Ji-hyo will choose the best member through a dance competition. Instead of doing a dance, Gary kissed Ji-hyo’s cheek and she was surprised by the kiss. Ji-hyo’s and Gary’s shy faces became a special moment for the Monday Couple lovers.

In episode 15 of Running Man, the members and guests got a mission to make Ji-hyo’s heart rate increase. For this purpose, Gary sang a song that he wrote the lyrics while thinking about her. The song is called Ji-hyo Blues. It is an original song of Leesang Feat Jung-in, Leesang Blues.
In episode 192 of Running Man, Kang Gary dedicated a song to his Monday girlfriend, Song Ji-hyo. When Gary slept in a tent with ZE:A’s Dongjun, they played some music to help them fall asleep. Ji-hyo came to visit their tent and asked them about the song that they played. To this, Gary said it’s a theme for her. The song he was playing was called “5 on a Joyride” by Cody ChesnuTT.
