Yoon Doo-joon is the leader of the popular Korean boy band, Highlight. Doo-joon was born on July 4th, 1989. He actually debuted as a singer, but as time went by, he ventured into the world of acting, and he launched his acting career in 2010 by starring in More Charming By the Day. In 2018, he and Kim So-hyun starred in Radio Romance playing the leading roles. After the success of the drama, Doo-joon enlisted for his military service on August 24th, 2018, and will come back in two years.

Radio Romance (라디오 로맨스) is a South Korean television drama series that was aired in 2018. The drama was aired on KBS2, every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 (KST) time, from January 29th to March 20th, 2018. It was directed by Kim Shin-il and the story is written by Jeon Yu-ri. This drama is a Korean drama that is set in a work environment in the field of radio and entertainment. The drama tells the story of Song Geu-rim, who is a less talented writer of radio programs and has so far only served as an assistant writer. She has special expertise in handling artists who become DJs or announcers in the program but she gets bothered by her announcers. Gue-rim is very fond of the radio ever since she was a child because her mother was blind so she was used the radio. Whereas Ji Soo-ho is a famous young actor who has a perfect life and family in the eyes of the public. He isn’t the biological child of Nam Joo-ha (President director of the office where he is based). The relation between him and his father is cold, and actually, Ji Soo-ho’s father is the source of problems in their family. The program director, Lee Gang, who just arrives after a holiday wants to make a new program under the name “Radio Romance”, so he asks Geu-rim to be the scriptwriter and Ji Soo-ho to be the announcer. Geu-rim relies on all means to make him the announcer until she makes a contract that clearly harms her. Actually, it turns out, that they have met in the past when they were teenagers, but Geu-rim doesn’t remember it. Whereas Ji Soo-ho remembers her even though it is the first time they meet after such a long time. This is because, at that time, Ji Soo-ho claimed to bi Wo Ji-woo even though Ji-woo loves Geu-rim. After becoming coworkers, they start to develop feelings for each other and their romance in the workplace begins, filling the location with romance. After releasing individual posters, KBS officially released a poster of the four main characters, or we could say the overall poster with the title and the cast (group poster). The entire official poster is showing Song Geu-rim and the other main actors in the radio studio. The rating of this drama, unfortunately, was not good at the end of all the episodes, even though the first episode was successful, reaching 5,5%. Based on Nielsen Korea data, the final episode of Radio Romance only reached 0,5% compared to the previous episode, at 3,1%. Nevertheless, with a rating of 3,1%, this drama got the second position and shifted the Great Seducer. Even so, Radio Romance lagged far behind Should We First Kiss, which got a rating of 11,9%. Interestingly, despite achieving a low rating with the final episode, this drama actually received the audience’s praise. The loyal audience of the drama was definitely made anxious by the relationship of the characters played by Doo-joon and So-hyun. The-tug-of-war between Ji Soo-ho and Geu-rim made the audience impatiently wait for every development in their story. Their relationship is very unique and sweet, for example, when Ji Soo-ho sits in the front of the broadcast microphone with headphones attached to his ears. In front of the actor is the announcer, Geu-rim, who shows a referral message for Ji Soo-ho’s broadcast, spills out. They have strong chemistry, even though their age is very different.
The audience wouldn’t be satisfied if the romantic moments are amounted to just hugging, holding hands, and gazing in the eyes of each other. Then, the audience’s and fans’ wish is granted with a kissing scene. Radio Romance aired a sweet kiss between the two main characters in the 10th episode. During the shooting of the scene, Kim So-hyun and Yoon Doo-joon had to shoot a kiss several times because the production team needed a different angle. Interestingly, after the kiss, they got embarrassed and chose to smile timidly. The video of the kissing scene apparently caught the attention of fans, and they melted when they saw Doo-joon’s smile shyly. Let’s see the video above!
