Pre-debut project
Prior to their debut, JYP Entertainment’s subsidiary, NCC Entertainment, released four singles to introduce Boy Story’s concept to the public. This project was named “Real! Project.” All singles were written and produced by Park Jin-young. The first single, that was released on September 1st, 2017, was titled “How Old R U?” The song itself is using the concept of hip-hop.
The second single, which was released on December 15th, 2017, is titled “Can’t Stop.” The song tells about the members’ dreams to change themselves into a better person and they simply can’t stop it. In the music video, each member uses a different character to show his respective dream.
The third single, that was released on March 30th, 2018, is titled “JUMP UP.” In this single, their choreography is using a table as an instrument. No wonder, their unique dancing skills drew a lot of attention from their fans.

The last pre-debut single that they released on June 12th, 2018, is “Handz Up.” This is their last single before setting off to debut with the release of their mini-album. Unlike other singles, “Handz Up” has EDM beat in it and is mixed with hip-hop. News reports said that the music video was shot in South Korea with a big budget.
