Profile and Facts of Kim Min-seok
Kim Min-seok was born on January 24, 1990. He’s appeared in various popular television series, such as Flower Band, Descendants of the Sun, The Doctors, Innocent Defendant, Because This is My First Life, and many others. Before he established his career as an actor, he participated in Mnet’s survival audition show Superstar K3. He attended the preliminary regional audition in Daegu, but never made it to being part of the group of 11 contestants that got to compete on the show. He made his debut as an actor in tvN’s music youth series, Flower Band, not long after, playing the role of an ambitious keyboard player. He started to gain recognition after he starred in the hit drama Descendants of the Sun, in which the main roles were played by the now-married couple Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo. The same year, he was offered another role, in SBS’ medical drama The Doctors, and won the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards. After that, he played a supporting role in SBS’s legal-thriller drama series, titled Innocent Defendant, JTBC’s coming-of-age drama, Age of Youth 2, and tvN’s romantic-comedy series Because This is My First Life, in 2017. A few months later, it was reported that his contract with Woollim Entertainment expired, but he decided not to renew it and signed with Respect Entertainment isntead. Last year, he finally got to play his first lead role in the drama special Almost Touching. However, a few months ago he enlisted in the military to serve his conscripted duty, so we’ll have to wait to see another of his appearances on television! Kim Min-seok in Superstar K3
Before he started his career as an actor, Kim Min-seok started his journey on the Mnet survival audition show Superstar K3. His Cameo Appearance in The Beauty Inside
The Beauty Inside is a drama about a top actress named Han Se-gye, who lives with someone’s else face for a week every month, and Seo Do-jae, a director of an airline company who can’t differentiate between faces. In one of the episodes, Kim Min-seok made a surprise appearance as one of Han Se-gye’s transformations. Originally, Han Se-gye and Seo Do-jae were sitting on the bed, talking. Suddenly, Seo Do-jae’s mother bursts into the room, which made Han Se-gae hide under the covers. The angered mother yelled at her son and tugged at the blankets only to uncover Han Se-gye who had changed into Kim Min-seok. The two of them didn’t realize that the transformation happened, but Seo Do-jae’s mother was shocked at seeing another man in her son’s bed. When Han Se-gye started to speak in protest, the two of them noticed the lower voice and were shocked. On top of it, the voice cracked, meaning that she shifted into a pubescent boy. In response to his role in the drama, Kim Min-seok said that he was happy to take part in a good drama. He also added that it’s been a while since the last time he worked with Lee Min-kim, on Because This is My First Life, but there was a great atmosphere when they shot the scene. Dating Rumors Involving Kim Min-seok
As is common among celebrities in general, Kim Min-seok has been caught up in dating rumors. It was being rumored he was dating a model, Lee Joo-bin, back in December 2017. On December 28, various sources from the industry reported that Kim Min-seok and Lee Joo-bin had been dating for five months. According to those sources, the two started as being colleagues and their relationship escalated to romance back in July, and they were spotted together in Japan. A representative on Kim Min-seok’s side responded to these dating reports by saying that after they confirmed the news with the actor, he said that the two of them were close friends, but they weren’t dating. They were coincidentally in Japan at the same time, so they just met up and were joined by other friends later. A representative on Lee Joo-bin’s side also denied the reports, saying that Lee Joo-bin did go to Japan, but for personal reasons and she did’t go with Kim Min-seok. Kim Min-seok’s Departure from Woollim Entertainment
On October 16, 2017, it was revealed that Kim Min-seok’s contract with his former agency Woollim Entertainment, would be expiring soon. A source from the agency confirmed the report was true and said that the contract renewal is still under discussion because the actor was focusing on filming for the tvN drama Because This is My First Life, at the time. Later, on November 16, a source from Woollim Entertainment stated that their exclusive contract with Kim Min-seok had ended and he decided not to renew it after discussion. They also added that the agency had made the decision to respect Kim Min-seok’s decision about leaving the agency. Currently, Kim Min-seok is working with his new agency, Respect Entertainment. Details About Kim Min-seok’s Military Service
On December 3, 2018, it was announced that Kim Min-seok would be enlisting in December 2018. His agency, Respect Entertainment, also confirmed the news by releasing a statement saying that his enlisting date was set for December 10. His agency also added that Kim Min-seok recently wrapped up filming for his upcoming movies and decided to spend his remaining time to rest. His agency added that Kim Min-seok wished to have a quiet enlistment and that there would be no official event scheduled for reporters or his fans. It was also reported that he would be discharged in July, 2020. Let’s hope that he does his best and stays healthy in the military!

Kim Min-seok is in the middle of completing his mandatory military service right now, but Kim Minseok and his agency keep up on updates about his activity in the military! On January 15, Kim Min-seok shared photos of himself in his military uniform, reminding his fans of the time when he starred in the drama Descendants of the Sun.
