Who is the most popular member of High4?
Alex seems like the most popular member in High4 because among its members he has got the biggest number of followers on his Instagram. It is likely because he likes to update his SoundCloud with new songs, and he also participates in his friends’s vlog on YouTube. The fact that he can speak English fluently means that his overseas fans can interact with him without language difficulties. The second most popular one is the maknae, Youngjun. As the face of the group he has got lots of fans not only because of his appearance but also because he is witty. He also participated in MIXNINE and this increased his popularity even more. Myunghan has got the third biggest number of followers on his Instagram among the High4 members. He always updates his fans about his daily life through Instagram. The fact that he participated in the K-pop Star audition program also got him public recognition from that time. The last one might be Sunggu. He got popularity through his OST songs in Korean Drama. But unfortunately he chose to leave the group and went to the military to do his mandatory duty.
High4’s Popularity Ranking
In Korean entertainment there something called ‘brand popularity ranking’. It’s a ranking that is published by Korean media outlets that reflects who is the most popular group or people in the past month. The ranking will be updated every month to show who is creating the most media buzz. High4 members got popularity when they debuted in 2014 because they featured with the most popular Korean Female Artist, IU. Because of this, the group created so much buzz when they debuted. Their debut song ranked at number 1 on Melon and other Korean music sites. The song also won on Inkigayo on May 11 2014. Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossom become the most popular ‘Spring carol’ in Korea. When Spring comes, the song will chart again on Korean music sites even though it was released a long time ago. Unfortunately, these days there is no update about the group since their last comeback in February 2017. The group hasn’t planned any comeback yet. Let’s hope they will make a comeback soon.
