Yoon does not have any siblings as he is an only child. Yoon learned to play the guitar in the eighth grade. When he was in his last year of junior high, he took lessons in both classical guitar and billiards. Yoon participated in Mnet’s Superstar K2 in 2010 and finished in 4th place. Yoon made his singing debut as a solo artist in the year 2013, with “It Rains.” The song reached the top spot on many music charts. Yoon’s hobbies involve composing music, writing lyrics, going to the pool, playing the guitar, and drawing. Yoon cannot eat peaches and apples. On one of V Live broadcasts, Jinu revealed that he had trained for five years. Jinu was a backup dancer at the 2011 YG Family Concert alongside fellow former group member Taehyun. Jinu usually takes the longest when it comes to memorizing the lyrics of a new song. Jinu is a regular cast of the travel reality show Wizard of Nowhere. Jinu’s hobby is swimming. Jinu is allergic to cat fur. Thus, he takes care of two Sphynx cats named Bay and Ray. Jinu and Mino live in the same dorm because they have cats. Jinu likes to play video games a lot. Hoony moved to Seoul after graduating high school and auditioned for Korea’s Got Talent as part of the dance group Honest Boys. Hoony also participated in the first season of Kpop Star. He finished in fourth place. Hoony choreographed a flash mob performance for G-Dragon. Just like Yoon and Mino, Hoony’s hobby is writing lyrics. Hoony is able to speak Japanese. Hoony grew up in a rooftop room that is located right by YG Entertainment’s building. He has said that he would stare at the building at night and dream of making it big there. Mino started out as an underground rapper by the name “Huge boy Mino” and worked with people like Block B’s Zico and P.O, and M.I.B’s SIMS. Mino was supposed to debut as a member of Block B, along with Zico, Kyung, and Hanhae, but he left. Mino used to be a member of B.o.M, that debuted in 2011, but the group didn’t manage to reach the desired popularity level and disbanded soon after. Mino was originally supposed to be the leader of WINNER. However, the position was switched to Yoon because he had an ankle injury. Along with iKon’s Bobby, Mino is part of the hip-hop duo MOBB which was formed in 2016. Similar to Yoon and Hoony, Mino likes to write lyrics. His other hobbies include composing music, drawing, and playing basketball. During his appearance in the Secret Variety Training show, Mino said that he really likes tteokboki (stir-fried rice cake) and that it is his go-to food when it comes to relieving stress. However, he cannot lose weight if he has tteokboki when he is on a diet. Mino is afraid of bugs. Mino’s all-time favorite movie is Fight Club. People used to be uncomfortable with Mino, but actually, he is very bright and cheerful because he laughs out easily and is a very sweet guy. Taehyun was recruited by YG Entertainment in 2011 through a private audition. Taehyun is able to speak Japanese. Similar to current member Yoon, Taehyun’s hobbies are composing music and writing lyrics. Taehyun has a tattoo on his left arm that says “Jean Michel Basquiat,” and one on his left wrist that says “Stay Gold.” Taehyun has two dogs and three cats. On his free days, Taehyun likes to stay active. Usually, he takes care of his pets and plays tennis. Taehyun’s ideal type is someone who has a strong heart and body and is able to talk to him easily. Taehyun left Winner on November 26th, 2016. His departure from the group and the agency came after YG Entertainment announced his hiatus, which he had to take due to reported mental health issues. Accordingly, Taehyun suffers from bipolar disorder and insomnia. After leaving Winner and YG Entertainment, Taehyun established his own agency South Buyers Club. Taehyun re-debuted with his band named South Club on May 26th, 2017.
