L.Joe As TEEN TOP member

L.Joe was the most popular member of TEEN TOP as he was the visual and the lead rapper. His nickname is the Mischievous Rapper. TEEN TOP debuted under TOP Media, on July 10th, 2010. Teen Top made their official debut with the song titled “Clap” (박수), with a music video featuring Lizzy from After School. Their debut single album, Come Into The World, was released on July 9th, 2010. The debut of this group officially took place on July 10th, 2010, first appearing on the MBC channel, on Show! Music Core, then on SBS’ Inkigayo, and received a positive response to both performances. Netizens also mention TEEN TOP in association with Knife Choreography.

Departure from TEEN TOP

In February 2017, L.Joe surprised the fans by the announcement of his departure from Teen Top. He filed for nullification of the contract with T.O.P Media and left TEEN TOP. The big reason why L.Joe decided to leave T.O.P Media is due to the agency’s refusal to let L.Joe have his solo promotions. Actually, the things got complicated when L.Joe met T.O.P Media for renewing his contract in October 2016. L.Joe decided to leave TEEN TOP and stand by himself for pursuing his solo career. But, the agency apparently put limits on his solo promotions. It is reported that the agency did not interact diligently with the producers. When L.Joe was repeatedly contacted to appear after being offered a salary that fits his role, acting experience, and recognition, the agency did not make any negotiations on his appearance. Even for the drama A that contacted L.Joe first because they wanted to cast him, the label asked for a salary 7 times his previous, and the offer fell through. Surprisingly, on TEEN TOP’s global Fan Meeting June 2017, L.Joe still attended as he had already signed the contract to attend this fan meeting. It was the last time L.Joe did promotions with TEEN TOP.
