Han Ga-in and Yeon Jung-hoon Welcome Their Second Child
Actor Yeon Jung-hoon shared the good news about his wife Han Ga-in’s second pregnancy last year during the MBC Drama Awards 2018 while he was accepting the award Top Excellence in Acting for My Healing Love. “I’m grateful to my wife and daughter, who are my first and greatest fans and are always rooting for me at home. In fact, next year we will have a new member in our family,” he revealed. According to Han Ga-in’s agency, BH Entertainment, the actress was already in the 20th week of her pregnancy then. Jung-hoon was asked in a recent interview about whether or not he discussed the surprise announcement with his wife. Quoted from allkpop, he said, “She told me to just coolly reveal it since it’ll be revealed when she starts going to the hospital anyway, so I did.” Surprisingly, he also said that they originally did not have any prior plans for a second child. “We didn’t even have thoughts for a second baby. It’s not something that can happen with just planning. You accept it when God gives it to you.” Yeon Jung-hoon went on to share that he felt sorry for not being able to help his wife with child care while he was filming his acting projects. “I feel sorry, but what can I do? I’ll just have to do better when I do have the time, [when I’m not filming a project]. When our second child is born, I’m going to work hard to take care of him or her.” Finally, on May 13th, 2019, at 2 p.m. KST, Han Ga-in’s agency, BH Entertainment, announced that she gave birth to a healthy baby boy at a hospital in Seoul. The mother and child are currently in good condition and resting following the labor. We are sharing joyful news that actress Han Ga-in has welcomed a new member into her family. On May 13th, at around 2 p.m. KST, actress Han Ga-in gave birth to a healthy boy at [a hospital] in Seoul. The mother and baby are both healthy and are currently recovering. We ask for your blessings, and thank you for always giving love and interest regarding actress Han Ga-in.” Yeon Jung-hoon’s agency, 935 Entertainment, added that the actor was delighted from the news and is currently accompanying his wife. Fans are also eagerly watching his Instagram feed as the actor shared the first photos of his daughter about a week after her birth, and are hoping that he will do the same for his son.

The actress gave birth to a baby girl on the early morning of April 13th, at a maternity clinic located in Gangnam, Seoul, with her husband by her side the entire time. As this was their first child after more than 10 years of marriage, Yeon Jung-hoon was extremely attentive to both the mother and the child’s health. Han Ga-in also took extra precautions and avoided going outside while focusing on prenatal care.
While their first daughter is named Yeon Jae-hee, she was nicknamed “Bolt” because her doting father hoped that his bundle of joy would grow up healthily like the animated dog character of the same name. Through Jung-hoon’s personal Instagram account, the proud parents have constantly posted updates on the little girl, but have stopped short from revealing her face online.
Actually, in 2013, the couple said they hoped to get pregnant during the Year of the Horse, which began at the end of January 2014. “We hope to conceive a baby in 2013 and have it born the following year, so the baby will have the same zodiac sign as me, the horse,” said Yeon Jung-hoon. Although they were united on when to have a child, they differed on which sex was preferable. The drama is a comedy thriller about a detective with strong gut instincts (Song Sae-byuk) and a woman who was born with the powers of a psychic (Go Jun-hee) who chase a wicked soul that possesses humans to commit crimes.
