Three Meals a Day brought Taecyeon and Park Shin-hye together
Taecyeon appeared in Three Meals a Day: Jeongseon Village 1 that aired from October 17th to December 26th, 2014, with Lee Seo-jin. He then appeared again in Three Meals a Day: Jeongseon Village 2 that aired from May 15th to September 11th, 2015, with other cast members, such as Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu. On August 26th, 2015, actress Park Shin-hye made a guest appearance in the variety show as tvN’s official Facebook page released a photo of her appearance while getting applauded by the other cast members.
As soon as Park Shin-hye entered the location of Three Meals a Day filming, every cast member was watching from afar and they got excited as the actress came to where they are. Park Shin-hye’s first appearance in Three Meals a Day: Jeongseon Village 2 was in episodes 2 and 3 that were broadcasted on May 22nd and May 29th, 2015, that reached 7-8% ratings nationwide and the Seoul Capital Area. As reported from Soompi, Park Shin-hye was to return to the show on August 28th and September 4th, 2015, which is exactly in episode 16 and 17. Park Shin-hye was known for her impressive cooking skills and brought enough food to feed 20 people at the filming site during her prior visit. Meanwhile, Taecyeon was also known as one of the best chefs in Three Meals a Day as he cooked spaghetti and made them look like a dish straight from an Italian restaurant. Appearing as a cast member of Three Meals a Day, Taecyeon also got complimented from Na Young-suk PD as he said that his spaghetti are actually a hotel level meal and people need to pay about 160 USD for them. As the actress and idol become the most anticipated guests of Three Meals a Day: Jeongseon Village 2, they had their first interaction together and Taecyeon got really excited that Park Shin-hye came as the special guest. In the previous episode, Taecyeon made a heart-shaped field and he promised to step into the field if he liked the upcoming guest. Soon as he saw the special guest is Park Shin-hye, he quickly went into the heart-shaped field without any hesitation about her and gave her a flower. Park Shin-hye is indeed a girl crush who can easily make Taecyeon’s heart flutter. The scene where Taecyeon asked Park Shin-hye to step into the heart-shaped field was followed by another cast member’s laughter. Lee Seo-jin, who has a difficult personality, even teased Taecyeon by saying, “Why do you show off your masculine side only when a female guest appears?” Taecyeon ignored the question and continued his interaction with Park Shin-hye taking off his jacket which made the other cast members cringe at the sight of his action. The first thing when he said about his excitement about Park Shin-hye becoming a special guest in the show was, “I want her [Park Shin-hye] to stay as a fixed member of this show.” The actor who starred in the drama Let’s Fight Ghost with actress Kim So-hyun, also explained that he never wished that she would become a guest in this episode then shyly complimented her by saying, “She has a great personality, is a good cook, and is younger than me.” Another notable moment of Park Shin-hye, the actress who starred in the drama Pinocchio (2015) as Choi In-ha, and Taecyeon enjoying together an outdoor meal is when he tried to make a cocktail. Taecyeon did his best to combine some apple mint leaves with sparkling water and attempted to fancy up the mojito with all of his efforts. At his first attempt, Taecyeon asked the staff to get some soju and ice before heading off to get some apple mints from the field. Lee Seo-jin and Na Young-suk PD teased him to made some drinks at the moment but he was so excited by the presence of Park Shin-hye as a special guest. Taecyeon proved his ability in cooking in front of his idol crush, Park Shin-hye, by carefully adding soju, sparkling water, sugar into crushed apple mints and ice inside the glass. For the last touch, Taecyeon made a small mistake as he accidentally dropped the mint leaf that should be placed on the top which caused a burst of laughter amidst the cast members and production staff. Meanwhile, it was Park Shin-hye’s turn to show off her cooking skills by making a simple fried rice dish. Lee Seo-jin was the first cast member to take a bite and he complimented her by jokingly saying, “Wow, you cook so well auntie.” And continued, “This food tastes like something I should have paid for. It’s really delicious. Somebody, please let her be a fixed member here.” But when it comes to Taecyeon, he only said a couple of words that triggered laughter among the people, those were, “I will just continue eating.” And they didn’t just show off their cooking skills, but also shared some sweet moments together in the show, as both Taecyeon and Park Shin-hye have been caught by the camera enjoying each other’s company in Three Meals a Day: Jeongseon Village 2. Taecyeon called Park Shin-hye’s mother on the phone and asked her if he can visit her restaurant some day. Taecyeon even called Park Shin-hye’s mother as eomonim like he was already close with her! Na Young-suk PD then asked Taecyeon if it would be good to let Park Shin-hye just leave right now? Taecyeon answered just in case he was curious when will she leave the show but then Na Young-suk PD strikes back again is it just him that doesn’t want her to leave already. Taecyeon didn’t answer Na Young-suk PD’s question exactly and made everyone confused with his explanation, even Park Shin-ye nagged Taecyeon to answer clearly. “You came and went back by plane, I mean you have to go easy on your body and take care of your health,” Taecyeon explained but the woman was still looking blank and didn’t understand anything. Kim Kwang-kyu, who was watching the two stars, approached Taecyeon and shouted all of the sudden that he needs to tell her that he loves her. But Taecyeon seemed flustered and shy about this, he tried so hard to stop Kim Kwang-kyu at the moment.
