Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun and CNBLUE’s Yonghwa Relationship
CNBLUE’s Yonghwa and SNSD’s Seohyun officially began their virtual romance on MBC’s We Got Married on 27 February 2010. Although their first interaction was quite awkward, Yonghwa and Seohyun, whose couple nicknames are ‘YongSeo’ and goguma couple (goguma means sweet potato) successfully developed their intimate relationship as the time went on. Besides appearing on WGM, Yonghwa and Seohyun also occasionally became the MCs of MBC’s music program Music Core, and sung a duet on the stage to perform Banmal (means informal speech), which is a song they composed themselves. During the period of their virtual marriage, Yonghwa and Seohyun ended up with hardcore shippers (people who want fiction characters or real people to have a certain relationship) because they think that Yonghwa and Seohyun are a match made in heaven. Sadly, Yonghwa and Seohyun’s appearance on We Got Married met its end on 14 March 2011 due to their busy schedules, hence the completion of their on-screen relationship. In April 2013, news outlets released information about Yonghwa and Seohyun, who apparently live in the same residence in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. Specifically, Yonghwa lives with other CNBLUE members on the first floor, while Seohyun lives with her family on the fourth floor. While giving his winning speech, Yonghwa received a doll from Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany, who detached it from Seohyun’s belt and raised it while expressing her love to BOICE (the name of CNBLUE fan club). After finishing his speech, Yonghwa asked Girls’ Generation’s Yoona about the doll, and spoke to Seohyun a little bit who patted Yonghwa’s shoulder while congratulating him and other CNBLUE members for their first place win. Four years later, Yonghwa and Seohyun are reunited as the MC of the Golden Disk Awards 2017 on 13 January, along with singer Hwang Chi Yeol.
