As you can imagine, after seeing the title of this article, for those of you who haven’t watched this drama yet, Oh My Ghost is a K-Drama that is a mixture of the supernatural, which some people might find scary, and the romantic and comedic, making it a unique piece of work. This is an outstanding formula in the world of K-Drama. And of course, we have to warn you about the SPOILERS this article contains. Oh My Ghost: Review
Oh My Ghost, or the Korean title in Romanization is Oh Naui Gwishinnim (Hangul: 오 나의 귀신님), is a 2015 K-Drama that was being aired from July 3rd to August 22nd, 2015, every Friday and Saturday in South Korea, specifically on the tvN (Korean channel) network. Oh My Ghost is directed by Yoo Je-won and written by Yang Jee-seung. There are a total of 16 episodes that you can watch of this drama. Oh My Ghost takes over another K-Drama aired on tvN, namely Ex-Girlfriends’ Club that previously occupied the same time slot. The first script reading took place at CJ E&M CENTER in Sangamdong, Seoul, South Korea. The plot of Oh My Ghost is focused on the stories developing among the three main characters, which in this drama are two humans and a ghost. The story begins with the timid girl named Na Bong-sun (played by Park Bo-young) whose life significantly changes after meeting a ghost girl named Shin Soon-ae (played by Kim Seul-gi). Na Bong-sun is a shy and timid girl who works in a restaurant and secretly has a crush on her boss, the star chef in the restaurant, Kang Sun-woo (played by Cho Jung-seok). Bong-sun has the ability to see ghosts, taking after her grandmother’s shamanic powers, which affects her in such a way that her personality becomes passive and introverted. She has a hard time with the people around her. Then, she meets the ghost who has been a huge topic of conversation on the Internet as a lusty virgin ghost who settled the grudge by sleeping with a man before being able to move on to the afterlife. The ghost’s name is Shin Soon-ae. Bong-sun gets possessed by Soon-ae and Soon-ae gets trapped in Bong-sun’s body because her body is a perfect match to be Soon-ae’s host. The thing is that Soon-ae can’t just sleep with any man out there to end her grudge because whoever she chooses to sleep with will contract a certain disease. On the other hand, she must make her wish come true before the third-year anniversary of her death or she will turn into a vengeful spirit and wander in the world forever. Then, she finds Kang Sun-woo as her “man of vitality” who she chooses to end her grudge, or in other words, to make her wish come true. The story continues with Soon-ae using Bong-sun’s body to force Kang-sun-woo and the other male employees in the restaurant to sleep with her. The fun begins when other people start to take note of the change in Bong-sun’s behavior and are confused by this sudden change of her character. Especially, since all of a sudden, the shy and lack-of-confidence-girl Bong-sun turns into an aggressive hunter. At first, Bong-sun is terrified of what will happen next and avoids Soon-ae. But then when she realizes that maybe she might get a chance to get close to Sun-woo, she agrees to let Soon-ae take over her body. And then, the “energetic” Bong-sun and Sun-woo start getting closer and then take the next step in their relationship. As the story flows, the audience will learn that Soon-ae’s death is because she was murdered by someone. The love story is also getting complicated when Soon-ae starts to develop her own feelings for Sun-woo. The ending of the drama is somewhat predictable for most people in the audience. Soon-ae resolves her grudge, dealing with her murder and finally being able to say goodbye to her family, Bong-sun and Sun-woo. Then, she moves on to the afterlife. On the other hand, after taking two years to study abroad, Bong-sun comes back as a more confident person and remains close with Soon-ae’s family. Her relationship with Sun-woo is still continuing. Happiness is waiting for both of them. Oh My Ghost is the kind of drama that will make you laugh a lot because of the cuteness. Although it would have been nice if this drama could focus a little bit more of the murder-mystery plot, it’s still a really good drama that is worth watching.

Park Bo-young
Park Bo-young is a South Korean actress that was born on February 12th, 1990, in Jeungpyeong County, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. She took education at Dankook University. She made her debut in 2006 and remains active until the present day. Park Bo-young played the role of Na Bong-sun in Oh My Ghost, a timid and not so confident girl who makes a change in her life after meeting Soon-ae.
Cho Jung-seok
Cho Jung-seok was born in Seoul, South Korea on December 26th, 1980. He took education at Seoul Institute of the Arts. He is married with the South Korean singer Gummy since 2018. Cho Jung-seok played the role of Kang Sun-woo, the star chef and boss of Na Bong-sun in the restaurant where she works.
Kim Seul-gi
Kim Seul-gi is a South Korean actress and comedian that was born in Busan, South Korea on October 10th, 1991. Kim Seul-gi took education in Seoul Institute of the Arts. She made her debut in 2011 and is active until the present day. She acted as Shin Soon-ae, a ghost full of grudge who has a wish to sleep with a man because she didn’t get to experience it when she was alive. She then meets Na Bong-sun and possesses her body to fulfill her wish.
