She used to attend School of Performing Arts (better known as SOPA), but later decided to give up in order to pursue a career in the music industry. Seoyeon’s Appearance in Idol School
As someone who used to be a YG trainee in the past, Seoyeon got all eyes on her. In the second episode of Idol School, we can see her come out when it’s time for a dance battle. With EXO’s “Growl” as the background music, she dances with passion. When she comes out to dance, the coaches are praising her for her expression that looks just right for the dance.
In the third episode of Idol School, we can see her perform “Whistle” that was originally sung by Blackpink, together with Lee Sae-rom, Kim Myeong-ji, Park Ji-won, Lee Yeong-yoo, Lee Hae-in, and Hong Si-woo. In the eighth episode of Idol School, Seoyeon performed a song titled “WEE WOO” that was originally sung by Pristin, with Lee Sae-rom, Jo Yeong-ju, Kim Myeong-ji, Park So-myeong, and Lee Na-kyung. Quite different from the previous performances’ concept, this time she has to perform with a cute and girlish concept. In the last performance, before the fixed members’ announcement, Seoyeon performed wearing an all-white outfit, in contrast with her previous performances that usually involved darker colors. Seoyeon’s Debut with fromis_9
On January 8th, 2018, it was announced that fromis_9 would officially have their debut with their first extended play titled To. Heart. The extended play was released on January 24th, together with its lead single titled “To Heart.” The extended play ranked 4th on the Gaon Album Chart issued on January 27th, 2018. While Jang Gyu-ri entered Produce 48 as a contestant, the group remained as an eight-member group and released their second extended play titled To. Day, on June 5th, 2018. The group went back as a nine-member group after Jang Gyu-ri was eliminated in the 3rd round of eliminations. Starting from September 21st, fromis_9 was managed under the management of Off The Record Entertainment, a new agency exclusively established for fromis_9 and Produce 48‘s final group IZ*NE. The group released a special single album titled From.9 on October 10th, 2018, with the title song “LOVE BOMB” that reached over 10 million views on Youtube. Seoyeon’s Best Style Choices
