He became increasingly famous for his roles in Master of Study, Man from the Equator, To the Beautiful You, and in the 2013 hit movie Secretly, Greatly. He also used to host a music program on JBTC, and featured in IU’s music video for the song You and I. The last drama he took was The Liar and His Lover as Kang Han-kyeol. When he was still a very young actor, Lee Hyun-woo won the hearts of many of his fans, and they rejoiced when Lee Hyun-woo got the chance to appear in a Running Man episode. Running Man Episode 147
This episode was aired on SBS on May 26, 2013. The theme for this episode was Flower Boy, an athletic competition that required more than a beautiful face and killer smile. Of course with this theme, Running Man invited the real ‘flower boy’ actors to be guests for the episode. They were Lee Hyun-woo and Kim Soo-hyun. It would be a challenge not to laugh out loud at their antics in this episode. The cast and the guests had pick up numbered cards to decide which team they’d be on, with the result that they were divided in three groups. The Blue group (Jae-suk, Kwang-soo, and Soo-hyun), the Green Group (Monday Couple and Suk-jin), and the Red group (Jong-kook, Haha, and Hyun-woo). Each group started the competition wearing eccentric athletic suits that matched the color of their group, with a flower pattern on the front. The first challenge was located at a soccer field. At first, seeing the obstacle was pretty normal, they thought they’d just have to jump in and jump there. Then they found out the track was really something — it was the prickly floor! As the other cast members were trying to finish the challenge, Lee Hyun-woo acted so adorably. When his feet touched the prickly floor, he suddenly yelled at Kim Soo-hyun, “Hyung, this hurts!”. However, he still ran down the track with his killer smile and, sadly, tumbled to the ground. The first challenge won by the red team, hurray! The second challenge was at a swimming pool. It seemed like it was a good day for dip in the water. This time, the representatives of each team would face off in a mukjippa battle (a tweaked version of rock-paper-scissors which ends when your opponent copies the same move as yours). If the representative lost, the team would end up in the water.

Beside of his cute, adorable and pure face appearance that will make the audiences scream, his acting skill cannot be doubted if we see him on his Korean drama or TV show that he starred in. But, the saddest part from adoring Korean Entertainment especially the actors is there will be a time that we cannot see our favorite actors not being shown on television anymore. It’s not because they quit or other big problems, but it’s because they have to do mandatory military service for their country, South Korea, for some of years. And sadly, this time is Lee Hyun Woo’s turn. On February 9th 2018, he started his military service as an active duty soldier. Wow… we have to be more patient to wait for him. But don’t worry! As we know, Lee Hyun Woo is a really familiar name in audiences’ ear as a Korean Entertainment lovers. Many of his dramas and shows made his name, Lee Hyun Woo, became more famous in audience. Not only in South Korea, but all over the world including Indonesia! And who knows that he actually became a guest on the most popular South Korean variety show, Running Man on 2014! Who doesn’t know about Running Man? Running Man is a variety show and one of the forming part of SBS’s Good Sunday lineup. The show was first aired in 2010. Running Man was also a kind of reality-variety show that focus on giving games and inviting many famous Korean Celebrities. And as we know, five of Running Man’s permanent cast are Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo, Kim Jong Kook, and Ji Suk Jin. This time, Running Man has hundreds of episodes starring many South Korean celebrities. Hyun Woo Oppa also became one of the guests in Running Man show with Kim Soo Hyun on episode 147. Episode 147 was on of the most favorite episodes of Running Man for the audiences, especially for Hyun Woo Oppa’s fans. And the theme of this episode was “Flower Boys Athletic Tournament”. This episode was Lee Hyun Woo’s first episode playing in Running Man. As we always know, on Running Man, there will be allocating teams for the guest stars. And this episode, there were 3 teams, which are the Blue Team (Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Kim Soo Hyun), the Red Team (Kim Jong Kook and Lee Hyun Woo), and the last was Green Team (Ji Suk Jin, Kang Gary, and Song Ji Hyo). The teams had to finish all the challenges that had been given and will get an award as “Flower Boys”. So, the first challenge was going to the field that had been surrounded by acupuncture carpet and also each team had to do the relay race on the acupuncture carpet in 1 minute! Sounds hurting, doesn’t it?
