Memories of the Alhambra
Memories of The Alhambra aired on tvN starting December 1st, 2018. The drama stars Park Shin-hye and Hyun-bin, and is a fantasy melodrama. The script was written by Song Jae-joong, who’s known for writing other great fantasy stories, such as W and Queen In Hyun’s Man. It’s also directed by Ahn Gil-ho, who reaped a lot of praise for his work in Secret Forest for tVN. Park Shin-hye is playing the role of Jung Hee-Joo, who goes to Spain to pursue her dream of becoming a guitarist. Sadly, her parents died when she studying in Granada, so she abandons her dream of being a guitarist and goes home to run a hostel instead, to support her family. Meanwhile, her antagonist, Yoo Jin-Woo, is played by Hyun-bin. Yoo Jin-Woo is the CEO of an investment company, who has been betrayed by a friend. He visits Spain for business purposes, and stays at an old hostel run by Jung Hee-Joo. In this drama, EXO’s Chanyeol will also take a role as Jung Hee-Joo’s brother. who is a genius computer programmer, but is very introverted and only wants to talk with his sister. Park Shin Hye was praised by the show’s producer, because her acting surpassed everyone’s expectations. The producer said, “Enchantment of Jung Hee Joo is that even though she must be the backbone of the family by managing hostel in a foreign country and doing other jobs, she still has a sentimental personality, not someone who calculates. Synchronizing Park Shin Hye and characters played more than what we imagined.” He then continued, “Please look forward to and love Jung Hee Joo’s character, who is charming, cheerful, and lovable, and also always works hard in the drama.
