Jungkook Enrolled in SOPA in 2014!
Before he became an idol, he attended Baekyang Elementary and Middle Schools in Busan. When he became a trainee, he transferred to Singu Middle School in Seoul. Jungkook was late starting high school because, at the time, he was busy preparing for his debut with BTS, but in February, 2014, he entered at SOPA (School of Performing Arts Seoul). When he entered school for the first time, Jungkook was escorted by his eldest brother (Hyung) in BTS. Even though Jungkook is good-looking and he is an artist, the system for entering SOPA isn’t any different for him than it was for the other students. Jungkook also joined the audition and took a test. He sang a ballad, then, when he was on audition, he sang the song Two Melodies by Zion. T. Here’s the video of Jungkook’s audition!
Jungkook looks so happy every time he goes to school. He is usually escorted by his fellow group-members or their manager, by car. His fans know that Jungkook is attending to school because, on February 5, 2015, he wrote a tweet at @BTS_tweet “Today the weather is very cold. So, be careful ARMY! Today is 12 o’clock please wait for us too!” and he uploaded his photo from school. Then ARMY were curious, and a month after that, on March 3, 2014, BTS’s Twitter account made a tweet with the caption @BTS_tweet : “GOLDEN MAKNAE ENTRANCE CEREMONY”. Jungkook’s hair at the beginning of school was red, whereas the other students all had black or brown hair. Here are photos and videos from when Jungkook went to school!
Finally, Jungkook Graduated in 2017!
After 3 years of high school, BTS’ Jungkook finally graduated, attending his school’s graduation ceremony on February 7, 2017. The news about his graduation was very exciting to many people, and ARMY from all over the world wanted to see Jungkook’s graduation, causing the #JKGraduationDay hashtag to be a trending topic on Twitter. Not much different than when he graduated from Junior High School, he was again accompanied by the other members of BTS. Not only that, when he started high school and when he had his graduation day, he was escorted and accompanied by his eldest brothers in BTS and his parents. How adorable he was! In an interview, Jungkook said he would celebrate his graduation by eating with fellow group members. The cutest thing is that BTS deliberately made the same poses they had taken when Jungkook first entered school. Jungkook posted on Twitter, taking the same pose as he did for the new student admission ceremony. At the time, Jungkook wrote the caption “I’ve entered in high school!”, while on his graduation day he wrote “I’ve graduated!” At his graduation ceremony, BTS’ Jungkook got a special award, or ‘Special Achievement Award’, from School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA). The award was given to him because of his ability not only to focus as an idol, but also to be able to work hard as a student, at the same time. The award was given not only as an appreciation for Jungkook’s work, however, the award is a form of recognition that Jungkook is a graduate of SOPA who has successfully become a role model. Jungkook isn’t the only idol to have graduated from SOPA that year. The other idols who graduated with him are the two maknae from the group Gfriend, Umji and Sinb, and WJSN’s Eunso. In November, 2016, he decided to forgo taking the CSATs, Korea’s nationwide university entrance exam, and currently he’s enrolled at Global Cyber University along with 5 other BTS members, Suga, RM, J-hope, Jimin, and V.
