Running Man Episode 323
On episode 323 of Running Man, which aired on October 30th, 2016, the featured guests were Seo Ji-hye, Kim Jun-hyun, Shinee’s Minho, Jang Do-yeon and Yang Se-chan. The production crew brought up the theme of Avatar House as the title of the race, set in Paju. The show starts with each of the Running Man hosts entering the scene while being given an ear piece, and being asked to follow whatever commands they received from it. Each of their ‘masters’ gave them quite a few ridiculous commands, such as for Lee Kwang-soo not to greet the other hosts and for Kim Jong-kook to show off his abdomen. Then it was made known that the voices behind the ear piece belonged to the guests for the episode, with each of them paired of with one the guests. Seo Ji-hye was paired off with Jae-suk, but the scene then cut to Haha’s claims of having met her a decade ago. As it happened, they did actually meet before in an episode of the variety show War of The Roses, which aired in 2002. The guests and hosts then started off the race with each pair choosing two out of twelve available briefcases. One of the 12 briefcases contained gold bars, a reward for the team, whereas two others have explosives. They would be given chances to exchange briefcases throughout the day, using challenges as mediums, but the teams who had the cases with the explosives at the end will face punishment. After checking out the contents of their briefcases, the pairs regrouped to start their first mission. The first mission was called Backhug Jjajangmyeon, and required one of member of each team to feed their partners a bowl of black bean noodles, and do it while standing behind them, blindfolded. Avatar, Jae-suk, was the first person to eat his noodles, while Ji-hye fed him. He and the other avatars ate the noodles quickly, but starting first allowed Ji-hye and Jae-suk to get a head start, and they finished the task quickly. That allowed Jae-suk and Ji-hye to pick a briefcase they wanted to trade, and they chose one of Do-yeon and Jong-kook’s briefcases. Both teams slipped out to check their new cases, and it turned out that Jae-suk and Ji-hye got the one with the gold. They continued the challenge by having the team members switch places, so it was Jae-suk feeding Ji-hye. Sadly, Haha and Joon-hyun earned the win, instead of the pair. Haha chose to switch with Jae-suk and Ji-hye, sending them into a panic since they had the case with the gold. The switch was made, and Ji-hye and Jae-suk were ecstatic that they still had the gold. They were relieved, and trying to play it cool, but some of the other pairs weren’t convinced by their acting, and suspected they did actually have the gold.
