One day he made a friend, who would later work on the costume staff for film director Park Chan-wook, while taking acting classes. Remembering that he resembled an actor called Yoo Ji-tae, the film director give him a call about auditioning for a role. Finally, Yoo Yeon-seok made his debut with a small role in the film Oldboy as Yoo Ji-tae’s younger counterpart, in 2003. After graduating from Sejong University with a film arts degree, he resumed his acting career and began to use the stage name his agency recommended, Yoo Yeon Seok, in 2008. Not only did he appear in dramas and films, he also played several roles in a theater show, and in 2019 he will be acting in “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder”.
