The first unit of this group, NCT U, debuted in April 2016 with the digital singles “The 7th Sense” and “Without You.” The second unit, NCT 127, based in Seoul, debuted in July 2016 with the mini album NCT #127. The third unit, NCT Dream, debuted in August 2016 with the digital single “Chewing Gum.” The fourth unit based in China was planned to make a debut in the second half of 2018. This unit has been registered under the name NCT Vision and is scheduled to debut and begin full promotion in China at the beginning of 2019. The next unit is expected to debut in Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. As of February 6th, 2018, the group consists of 18 members: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung who formed NCT 2018.

Mega Project NCT 2018

Starting from mid-January 2018, NCT introduced NCT 2018, a project involving all 18 NCT members. On January 30th, 2018, SM Entertainment released a video titled “NCT 2018 Yearbook #1,” which featured existing members and introduced three new members, Kun, Lucas, and Jungwoo. In February, NCT released a series of documentary videos titled NCTmentary as part of NCT 2018. This is an NCT mega project that began early 2018. On February 13th, SM Entertainment announced the first part of the NCT 2018 project with a new single from the NCT U rotation unit, where this time, the members were Taeyong, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, and new members Lucas and Jungwoo. In this album, NCT released 6 music videos with their flagship songs. On March 14th, 2018, NCT released their first album, NCT 2018 Empathy. As part of NCT 2018, the group has promoted and released a series of video clips for the main songs from Empathy consisting of “Boss” (NCT U), “Baby Don’t Stop” (Taeyong and Ten as part of NCT U) , “Go” (NCT Dream), “Touch” (NCT 127), and “Yestoday” (Taeyong, Mark, Doyoung and Lucas from NCT U). The last song of the album “Black on Black” features all 18 members of NCT.

Taeyong And Ten Greet Fans at their Fan Meeting In Thailand

NCT fans in Bangkok got a chance to greet Taeyong and Ten who held a fan meeting on June 3rd. Of course, this is a special fan meeting for Bangkok fans. Although only coming together, Taeyong and Ten successfully entertained fans with a super cool appearance. Not only that, but both of them also talked about many things with fans at the fan meeting. The fan meeting was successful, Taeyong and Ten immediately greeted fans by uploading handsome photos. In the photo, uploaded on the NCT Instagram account, Taeyong and Ten seemed to smile cheerfully. We will be back soon.” The duo was taken to GMM Live House at Central World for the exclusive meet and greet session and showcase featuring a Thai version of their hit “Baby Don’t Stop,” translated by Thai talented rappers Khan Thaitanium and Twopee Southside Taeyong and Ten, better known as NCT U, are a sub-unit of SM Entertainment’s big boyband project NCT (short for Neo Culture Technology) designed to have an unlimited number of members divided into multiple sub-units based in various cities worldwide. Currently, the project comprises three sub-units, NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT Dream.

NCT Dream

The third sub-unit of the NCT boy band made by SM Entertainment confirmed the date of their comeback. On Thursday (16/8/18) at 10:00 KST or around 08:00 WIB, SM released a second teaser via the official Twitter account of SM, @SMTOWNGLOBAL. In the teaser photo, seven people appeared in all-white costumes with a touch of blue, red, and gray. Along with the teaser, SM announced that Mark CS will release their second mini-album on September 3rd. The album is titled We Go Up, contains six tracks, including the “Go Up” song as the title song of the album. NCTzen (the name for NCT fans) has an opportunity to pre-order the album, starting August 16th, 2018. From this album, fans can expect more impressive appearances from Mark, Renjun, Jaemin, Haechan, Jeno, ChenLe, and Jisung. Launching Soompi, “Go Up,” which became the title song of the album, brought the urban genre of hip-hop to a new level. Interestingly, this comeback is a sign of Jaemin’s return to the NCT Dream unit. As is known, as a main member of NCT Dream, he had been absent for several promotional periods due to illness. We Go Up is NCT Dream’s second mini album. Their first project was We Young with a title song of the same title. Even though this release only marks their second mini album, but Mark CS has been quite active in promoting some of their singles, such as “Chewing Gum” and “My First and Last.”

NCT Dream Greets Fans In Their Special Music Variety Show, ‘NCT Dream Show!’ Let’s Take A Look At The Details

NCT Dream greeted fans in their NCT DREAM SHOW variety music concert at the COEX Artium SMTOWN Theater, in September. The concert was held for three consecutive days, starting on the 28th and ending on September 30th, 2018. NCT DREAM SHOW will focus on the concept of NCT, which sympathizes with dreams and makes them come through with music. Fans can become one with NCT Dream through this event where music, shows, videos, and stage effects are all connected organically. There will be a special show just for NCT DREAM SHOW, and members will play games and hold talk shows on stage. Fans should be really pleased with this event because the concert has many different programs. Located at COEX Artium SMTOWN Theater, NCT Dream will prepare to present different things from most fan meeting or concerts namely taking the concept, ‘dream’ and ‘music’ into a special series where they will also play games and have meet-and-greet sessions with their fans. Fans who saw this also felt happy because the format of the ‘Special Concert’ really appeared to be different from anything else and similar to the performance stage where NCT Dream would be able to get closer together with the fans. Fans also thought this was not a ‘Graduation Concert’ for Mark but only a ‘Show’ to show the music and awesome performance of the NCT teen unit. On the other hand, NCT Dream has returned with their second mini-album, We Go Up, and has successfully reached the top of various music charts, both inside and outside Korea. They successfully ranked #1 on the 15 iTunes album charts and finished #1 on Chinese music sites. Meanwhile, NCT Dream was confirmed to be holding the NCT DREAM SHOW again for the second time for 5 consecutive days starting from December 1st to 5th, 2018.

NCT 127

NCT 127 again shocked fans by releasing a calendar schedule comeback for Regular-Irregular! After releasing a Highlight Medley for Regular-Irregular! a while ago, on September 30th, NCT 127 again revealed the calendar schedule for their latest performances. Based on the photo, their teaser schedule will start on October 5th, by releasing ‘Regular Dream’, then on October 6th – ‘Irregular Office’, on October 7th – ‘Image Teaser’, on October 8th – ‘MV Teaser-1’, on October 9th ‘Regular’ MV (English Ver.), on October 11th – ‘MV Teaser-2’, and on October 12th – ‘Regular’ MV (Korean Ver.). The singles were released along with the release of their official album. In this comeback, NCT 127 made a special release, where they released two MV versions of the song ‘Regular’, an English and a Korean version. In addition, NCT 127 were known for adopting the broader concept of ‘NCT 2018’ for their 1st Full Album, which was based on the concepts of ‘Reality’ and ‘Dream’. The concept of ‘Dream’ and ‘Reality’ is known to have been used by NCT since the ‘NCT 2018’ mega-project was announced earlier this year. This included video content for the Yearbook of the NCTmentary, which contains an explanation of the ‘Dream’ and ‘Reality’ concepts. Meanwhile, NCT 127 made their second comeback with the release of the album titled NCT #127 Regular-Irregular, on October 12th when they officially announced Jungwoo as the 10th member of NCT 127. By bringing a total of 11 tracklists and making the song “Regular” with the pop/latin genre as their title track this time. NCT 127 had also released their comeback schedule, which was Live on October 1st, NCT 127 Comeback Live on October 3rd, and a first time live performance with 10 members on the local American TV talk show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ that was held on October 8th, 2018. After the initial success of their first album Regular-Irregular!, now NCT spoils fans by releasing their repackaged album Regulate with 3 additional songs in it. In this repackaged release, the flagship title song is “Simon Says” with a digital album released on November 23, 2018, and a physical album that had been released 4 days later on November 27th, 2018.

NCT 127 Announces Their First Solo Concert In Japan

On the morning of August 25th, through the official website of NCT 127 Japan, NCT 127 confirmed their first Japanese tour concert to the public. This tour will start from February next year by visiting several cities in the country of Sakura. It looks like the second half of 2018 will be a busy time for NCT, especially since SM Entertainment has reported that NCT China is being prepared to make a debut. On August 13th, SM Entertainment’s agency revealed their plans for the group’s upcoming promotions. In addition to announcing a comeback for NCT Dream and NCT 127, SM also confirmed that the long-awaited NCT unit, NCT China, will debut before the end of the year. After releasing a mysterious graphic teaser in the middle of the night, SM Entertainment shared a new version of the image that revealed its meaning. This graph serves as an outline of NCT activities in 2018, after the “NCT 2018” project which is a different title track. In this photo, it can be seen that the next unit that will make a comeback is NCT Dream, followed by NCT 127. SM Entertainment’s ambitious NCT project is about to get another unit group, with NCT China next in line to make a debut. SM Entertainment as the agency that oversees NCT revealed that NCT China will debut after NCT Dream and NCT 127 make a successful comeback. Lee Soo Man has confirmed that the group, which will be made up of all Chinese members, is currently preparing for their debut. SM Entertainment founder, Lee Soo Man, previously stated that the unit would consist of group members from China and would focus on promotion in China.
