He was born in Mapo, Seoul, South Korea. He has an older brother, Woo Taewoon, who was a former member of idol group Speed. He draws with his left hand, but he writes with his right hand. He and Park Kyung is a childhood friends. He lived abroad in Japan for three years. He was a Vocal Performance major at Seoul Music High School. He studied at the Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts University between 2013 2015. When he was a teenager, he auditioned for S.M. Entertainment. In 2009, he joined Stardom Entertainment. He good at freestyle rap, composing, and weaving melody lines. He is very good at observing people and noticing changes. He had tried to figure out person’s temper rather than focus on outward and superficial habits. He debuted on November 7th 2014 by released his official debut single titled “Tough Cookie” featuring the rapper Don Mills. Along with his member Park Kyung, they produced all of Block B’s albums. Zico has an older brother named Woo Taewoon. He was a former member of idol group Speed, and recently he joined the YG’s survival program MIXNINE but failed to joined the debut group. He was born named Woo Ji-seok on May 11, 1990 in Mapo, Seoul, South Korea. He lived in Japan for 3 years and studied at the Tokyo Polytechnic University. Both Taewoon and Zico were trainees for Block B, but Taewoon left before debuting and later joined Core Contents Media, known as MBK Entertainment. He debuted in 2010 as a member of Coed School by releasing a digital single “Too Late”. He also made his solo debut in December 2012 by releasing single titled “Saturday Night”.
