He was born in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. He has an older brother, Kim Seok Jung, who introduced him to the world of hip-hop. His brother is two years older than him. He graduated from Konkuk University in February 2017. He is currently pursuing further studies at Hanyang Cyber University. Jin is majoring in Film. He is the oldest member of BTS. He has a lot of nicknames.
