Yuto is a former JYP trainee. Yuto auditioned for Cube Entertainment and became one of the official members after finishing his Pentagon Graph in the 9-week program. Yuto is able to speak and rap in both Japanese and Korean. Yuto has a lot of Japanese friends, such as ONF’s Yuto, whom he met when both of them were JYP trainees, NCT’s Yuta, whom he hosted with on the 10th anniversary of the Korean Music Festival in Yokohama, former Cross Gene member Terada Takuya, and JBJ95’s Takada Kenta. Yuto is a former baseball player. He practiced baseball for 6 years and soccer for 2 years. Yuto has a deep voice. Yuto is afraid of the dark. Yuto cannot eat spicy food. Pentagon’s Yuto’s Career
Ever since the end of 2015, Cube Entertainment has hinted about the new boy group. Four months later, the agency revealed the soon-to-debut group with the trailer called “Come into the World” and joined collaboration with Mnet to create the reality program, Pentagon Maker. The show was airing on Mnet’s digital content brand M2. Throughout the program, the fans were able to see many sides of Yuto. In episode 3, Yuto, who firmly said that he cannot act cute, unexpectedly did aegyo which was heart-fluttering to see.
On the other hand, Yuto showed his idol-like skills as he joined the battle performance with fellow contestant Kino in episode 6.
As one of the foreign contestants in the show, Yuto still had difficulty in speaking Korean. In episode 8, he was interviewed by Shinwon and E’Dawn and was forbidden to do certain actions, such as turning head when laughing, being expressionless, and saying ‘no’, ‘it is okay’, or ‘ah yeah’. The interview between the trio became funnier as Yuto undoubtedly did the forbidden actions countless times which you can watch in the video below.
After the airing of the program, Yuto and the other nine contestants released their pre-debut songs “Young” and “Final Me.” The music video of “Young” featured Yuto along with Hui, Kino, Wooseok, and Yeo One. Pentagon originally was slated to debut on July 23rd, 2016, but was delayed due to internal issues so they officially debuted three months later, on October 10th. Soon after Pentagon’s debut, Yuto made his first cameo on Yeo One’s web drama Spark. Notably, Yuto was also accompanied by Hui, E’Dawn, and Wooseok. In one of the making videos, Pentagon members can be seen on the filming set.
Yuto also made a cameo appearance in the popular JTBC drama Age of Youth 2. Along with Kino, Yeo One, Jinho, Kino, Yeo One, and Wooseok, Yuto appeared briefly as the group called Asgard. Up until the present, Pentagon already has seven Korean mini-albums and four Japanese mini-albums, has appeared on seven variety shows and four dramas and has held eight concert tours, five showcases, and two concerts with other Cube artists.

Pentagon’s Yuto’s Latest News
In early December 2018, it was revealed that Pentagon will officially debut in Japan in February 2019. Their Japanese debut song “COSMO” is regarded as special as the vocalist of the Japanese rock band Glay, Teru, has composed and written the song. Yuto has said many times that he and his parents are fans of Glay, so the fans think that Yuto must be happy because of the matter. Not only debut, but Pentagon will also hold their first Japan Zepp tour Dear Cosmo in several cities, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. In January 2019, Yuto celebrated his 22nd birthday with two K-Pop Japanese celebrities, former Cross Gene member Terada Takuya and JBJ95’s Takada Kenta. The photo of them celebrating the event was revealed on Takuya’s Instagram Story as Yuto and Kenta who notably also had his birthday in January are seen to wear the birthday cap.
