Red Velvet’s Album Fashion Styles
Before we talk about the daily fashion of Red Velvet, we are going to examine Red Velvet’s fashion in their album photoshoots. We can see that in the picture above, there are five different frames for their debut teaser for Happiness, so we will talk about the fashion of Red Velvet in the top left first. All of Red Velvet’s members wear different colors and patterns of navy dresses in blue (Joy and Seulgi) and white (Irene and Wendy), whereas their colorful braided hair such as green (Joy), pink (Irene), Seulgi (orange), and blue (Wendy) are tied to each other. For the final touch, Red Velvet’s members also wear a crown on the top of their heads with their respective colors with the addition of Joy who has a green stone on the center of her crown. In the top right frame, we can see that each of Red Velvet’s members wear different kinds of outfits, such as the fishnet top with the inner tank top (Joy), baby blue tank top with the purple string which is paired with the pale pink skirt (Irene), colorful oversized shirt (Seulgi), and a pink and white crop top and skirt (Wendy). For accessories, all the members except Wendy wear an accessory, such as a gold necklace (Joy), dangling pearl earrings (Irene), and a small necklace with a circle pendant (Seulgi). Then, in the bottom left frame, we can see that Red Velvet’s members pose differently while wearing similar clothes which consist of an overall shirt (Seulgi and Irene) and oversized tank tops (Wendy and Joy) which are paired with shorts. All of Red Velvet’s members wear the white long socks as well whereas only Seulgi wears her orange crown. In the center frame, we can see that Red Velvet are hand in hand as they wear a pair of crop tops and mini-skirts in various colors whereas the different kinds of flower crowns are placed on the top of their heads. Lastly, unlike the previous frames that we have talked about, Red Velvet’s members hide their ombre hair by wearing colorful short wigs which represent their respective colors while wearing oversized shirts and shorts. For accessories, all of them wear ribbon headbands which suit their wigs well. Unlike their debut teaser pictures, Red Velvet goes for the more mature and classy look for the remake of S.E.S’s song “Be Natural”. In the first picture, we can see that all four of the members have a white long sleeve shirt which is paired with a plain cotton shirt. On the other hand, Red Velvet looks more draped in the second picture as they wear a pair of black suits and pants with a black ribbon in the collar. Nothing can be said for the accessories, but we think that the definition of classy is indeed ‘less is more’, don’t you think so? Red Velvet did a comeback for “Ice Cream Cake” with a new line-up as a five-member girl group because Joy was no longer the youngest member when Yeri was added to the group. The transformation gave a new start to Red Velvet’s fashion as well because we can see that the group wore four different kinds of outfits with their blonde and reddish experimental hair. In the top right frame, Red Velvet wears different colored sweaters (Seulgi, Irene, and Wendy) and dresses (Joy and Yeri). What catches viewers’ attention when they look at Red Velvet in this picture is the colorful horizontal lines, either on the clothes (Seulgi, Joy, and Wendy), sleeves (Irene), or skirt (Yeri). In the top left frame, we can see that the members of Red Velvet have a party in the kitchen while wearing plain white tops (Seulgi and Irene) or colorful tops (Joy, Wendy, and Yeri) which are paired with shorts and checkered hats. On the other hand, Red Velvet’s members combine sporty and feminine styles in the left bottom frame by wearing oversized sweatshirts and mini-skirts with their hair styled in braids, ponytails, or pigtails. Lastly, Red Velvet also wears checkered tops which suits the hat that they previously wore in the top right frame and paired it up with black mini-skirts, long black socks with white stripes, and white tennis shoes. Red Velvet’s teaser pictures for Dumb Dumb are pretty much the definition of bubbling pop that everyone finds refreshing. In the first frame, all of the members wear red maid suits with colorful aprons and stockings which represent their respective colors, whereas their hair is braided in ponytails with red ribbons. On the other hand, Red Velvet appears with a more teenager look by wearing colorful striped patterns on oversized shirts. For accessories, each of them wears a choker, band on the wrist, and cap in different colors. Red Velvet came back with the gloomy vibe for One of These Nights by releasing three teasers. In the first picture, all the members, who look like princesses, are lying down on the floor while wearing different kinds of dresses, whereas the accessories which can be seen are only earrings that some of them wear (Irene, Yeri, and Wendy). Then, we can see that Red Velvet’s members are gathered on a bed while wearing broken white overalls with hoodies while holding a small candle in their hands. At last, similar to the first picture, Red Velvet is half lying in the floor wearing different dresses with some of them looking at the camera (Seulgi and Joy) while some of them look the other way or just close their eyes (Irene, Wendy, and Yeri). For accessories, we spot different kinds of earrings (Seulgi and Joy), a headdress (Irene), and a ring (Wendy) in the third picture. Red Velvet is back with the song “Russian Roulette”, releasing three pictures with them wearing various wardrobes. In the first picture is a glimpse of Red Velvet’s music video where they wear plain white shirts with collars and sleeve edges in black (Wendy, Irene, and Yeri) or red (Joy and Wendy). For accessories, Red Velvet’s members wear a set of round earrings (Wendy, Seulgi, and Yeri), chokers (Joy and Irene), and various kinds of necklaces (Wendy, Yeri, and Seulgi). In the second picture, Red Velvet’s members wear lace blouses (Joy and Seulgi), dresses (Wendy and Irene), or a skirt (Yeri) while their shoes are varied between slip-on shoes, sneakers, flat shoes, and stilettos. For accessories, some of them wear earrings (Yeri), necklaces and rings (Wendy), and hairclips (Irene). Lastly, Red Velvet wears a set of red tops and white skirts which are paired with colorful socks and white tennis shoes. For accessories, the members wear chokers, hair clips (Irene), earrings (Yeri, Wendy, and Seulgi), rings (Wendy), and fabric bands on their wrists (Joy, Irene, Yeri, and Seulgi). Although it has been dubbed as the worst Red Velvet song, the release of “Rookie” is actually another God’s gift for us because Red Velvet is dressed in another wonderful set of clothes for the teaser pictures. In the first frame, the members either wear overall tops (Joy and Wendy) or sets of tops and skirts (Yeri, Seulgi, and Irene) in front of a flower background. For accessories, Red Velvet wears earrings (Yeri, Joy, Wendy, and Irene), chokers (Joy and Wendy), rings (Yeri and Seulgi), bracelets (Yeri), and fur pom-poms on the wrists (Joy). Contrarily, Red Velvet did a remake of their Dumb Dumb concept by wearing the same red maid suits with less puffy skirts whereas the accessories consist of earrings (Wendy, Yeri, Irene, and Joy), chokers (ribbon), red bands (Wendy), and hand gloves (Yeri, Seulgi, and Joy). Red Velvet came back with their successful hit “Red Flavor”. In the first picture, all Red Velvet’s members are hugging while wearing tank tops and shorts, truly giving the summer vibe. For accessories, the members wear tassel earrings (Yeri, Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy), rings (Wendy) and hairdressings (Joy, Irene, and Seulgi). On the other hand, in the second picture, Red Velvet is seen to wear a set of different kinds of tops either in red (Joy, Wendy, and Seulgi) or blue (Irene and Yeri) which are paired with shorts. As the last touch, the members also wear colorful tassels between their hair and earrings. After digging the red concept for three consecutive comeback promotions, Red Velvet finally went back to the velvet concept for “Peek a Boo”. In the first picture, all the members took a spooky shoot by posing under the limelight while wearing either dresses (Joy and Yeri), jumpsuits (Seulgi), and crop tops with shorts (Irene and Wendy). In addition, the members wear chokers (Joy, Seulgi, and Yeri), long gloves (Seulgi and Joy), earrings (Joy, Wendy, and Irene), rings on both left and right fingers (Irene), belts (Yeri), and long boots (Irene and Wendy). In contrast, all of Red Velvet’s members posed as if they are sleeping in the second picture while wearing plain red dresses (Joy, Yeri, Irene, and Seulgi) and red checkered dresses (Wendy) with red crowns on their heads. Moreover, all the members wear red socks with the exception of Seulgi wearing longer ones than the rest of them. Finally, just like their Dumb Dumb teaser picture, Red Velvet wears clothes with colorful striped patterns, though in the darker vibe. For accessories, the members wear chokers (Joy, Wendy, Yeri, and Seulgi) and earrings (Irene, Yeri, Wendy, and Joy). Red Velvet came back with another velvet concept by releasing the repackaged album titled Bad Boy with two group teaser pictures. In the first picture, all the members wear overall shirts with the cartoon prints except for Joy who wears the crop top with the lace bra and denim shorts and fishnet sleeves and stockings which are also worn by Yeri and Irene. For accessories, Red Velvet wears chokers, bracelets, a set of different kinds of earrings (Yeri, Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy), bangles (Seulgi), rings (Joy, Irene, and Seulgi), and belts (Joy). Contrarily, in the second picture, Red Velvet took a picture in a brighter spot with all the members wearing different kinds of tops in pink (Irene, Yeri, Joy, and Seulgi) and black (Wendy), fishnet stockings (Joy, Seulgi, Wendy, and Irene), pink fur coats (Wendy and Irene), and animal print-out stockings (Yeri). For accessories, the members of Red Velvet wear bangles (Joy), earrings (Yeri, Joy, Wendy, and Irene), necklaces (Irene, Wendy, and Joy), chokers (Wendy, Yeri, Irene, and Joy), rings (Joy and Yeri), and bracelets (Seulgi and Joy).
