The truth of the situation is always available, though. One example of a couple that has been rumored to be secretly dating is Super Junior’s Eunhyuk (Suju) and IU, and the truth remains a mystery. The source of the performers’ dating rumors comes from a phenomenal photo uploaded by IU, and fans still don’t know whether or not Eunhyuk does have a special relationship with IU. In November of 2012, a photo showed up on Twitter, which showed a shirtless SJ Eunhyuk with IU, and caused a massive uproar in Korean entertainment world. The picture sparked dating rumors, and even speculations about marriage and pregnancy started blowing up from person to person. IU later admitted her mistake in an interview, saying that she had uploaded the image by accident, and cleared up any pregnancy rumors. Neither IU nor Eunhyuk ever admitted or denied being in a relationship after that. In 2015, Eunhyuk looked awkward when Shin Dong Yup mentioned IU’s name on Shin Don Yup’s Bachelor Party program, but it was quickly covered up. There also many events that use these scandals to garner attention. Somehow IU and SJ Eunhyuk might ‘accidentally’ happen to appear together on some award or variety shows. It happened on December 29, when IU and Suzy were interviewing celebrity guests between performances during the “2012 SBS Gayo Daejeon: The Color Of K-Pop” program. When they had finished interviewing Big Bang‘s Taeyang, Suzy handed off the microphone to Eunhyuk, as netizens saw how IU struggled to find somewhere to look without drawing too much attention to herself about it.

When it was Super Junior‘s turn to be interviewed, viewers took note of Eunhyuk’s sudden expressionless face once he got the mic. Once it was his turn to talk, though, he didn’t disappoint fans as he showed his lively personality without showing any weird behavior about the fact that IU was close to him. The Star King MC repeatedly mentioned Eunhyuk and IU’s photo scandal when Super Junior was a guest star on the show. According to the ELF report, when the program began, MC Kang Ho Dong asked Eunhyuk to stand up, because he looked like a newlywed husband while introducing Super Junior, hearing the joke, Eunhyuk did argue with him jokingly. It didn’t stop there. Comedian Kim Ji Sun also commented that Eunhyuk seemed to understand correctly about the bed, Ho Dong even asked, “Eunhyuk, what should we do with the bed? Because this is a good day, do we have to rotate Good Day song (Good Day is IU’s song)? “, as reported by allkpop.com. One of the members of the Star King writers’ team went so far as to post via Twitter about the amount of chat there was about Good Day, but the post was immediately deleted when there was a lot of blowback from ELF. ELF who were present on the shoot commented that Eunhyuk looked uncomfortable during the shooting process. Even when receiving a gift, Eunhyuk seemed to apologize. As a result of what happened, many fans pressed for several scenes from the shoot to be removed because the photo scandal between Eunhyuk and IU is still being talked about. IU owned that the controversy which blew up around the photo was her fault. She appeared as a guest on the SBS show Incarnation and finally commented on the scandal with SJ Eunhyuk. When the MCs asked her about what happened, she shared, “I wondered, why did this (scandal) could happen? Why did I do this? First, I did upload it by mistake. And to be honest, I couldn’t even blame anyone because I was the one who uploaded it. It wasn’t that I could even have a hard time because of it.” And added, “I was so sorry to many people. Since I did it myself, I thought, who should I feel the most apologetic to? Should I be sorry to the people who loved me? Or should I be sorry to the people who loved the person I hurt (the other person in the photo)? I also thought a lot about, should I go out and apologize to everyone and clear up all the misunderstandings, or should I just stay quiet? I pushed back variety shows as much as I could because of that.” IU also apologized to many people by saying, “I was so sorry. It wasn’t something that made me have a hard time, being a burden on me or anything because I should just be sorry to everyone. I’m so sorry.” One of the MCs asked her, “I was very curious about this. Did you eat well on the day this happened?” for which IU honestly answered, “That day, Yoo In Na came over. We’re really close. She just fed me continuously. She kept making conversation on other topics, and even when I said, ‘Unni, you can leave’, she stayed by my side and kept feeding me. Even after that, she would go onto the radio and say, ‘I want to listen to IU’s song right now! This is IU’s song’. I thought, ‘She’s so stupid’, but I was so sorry and thankful. It made me realize how many people I’ve hurt just from one action.” Then Kim Gu Ra asked the most important question, “What did the other person [SJ Eunhyuk] say?” IU answered, “He asked me if I was OK. I told him, ‘I don’t have the rights to be not okay. I’m just so sorry to everyone for everything.” But even after she took responsibility and talked about the picture, a lot of people were having a hard time letting the incident drop. Why? Because it was still a cliffhanger, and because neither of them (IU or SJ Eunhyuk) ever specified what was actually going on when that picture was taken. They also never said whether they were just close friends, or possibly seeing each other. The strangest thing about all of this, though, is the question of how did IU manage to accidentally upload this photo on Twitter? It seems like that would be a difficult thing to do by accident. Most people know that uploading a photo is a process that takes more than one step. The picture was taken in August (during promotion for SPY ), but it was posted in November. Anyone who uses Twitter knows that there is quite a way to go to select, choose, and upload a photo. Plus, it was from August, and she surely must have taken other photos between then and November. So the question that still hanging out there is: How did she manage to upload this photo by accident? It seems quite impossible. For now, though, it still remains a mystery. Both of them were able to get through that difficult period and the scandal has finally subsided and has been buried by other artist’s scandals. The two of them have also made many comebacks with amazing songs as a great singer.
