Seventeen’s Mingyu was recruited to be a trainee in Pledis Entertainment when he was in his second year of middle school. He has a sister named Minseo, who’s four years younger than him. Mingyu was the tallest member in Seventeen, and he’s left-handed. His went to Burim Middle School and Seoul Broadcasting High School. He loves spicy foods, and one of his favorite foods is meat. The good friendship between Seventeen’s Mingyu and ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo is well-known to the public. On a few occasions, Mingyu talked about his friendship with ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo. On KBS 2TV’s Happy Together, Jo Se-ho commented about their friendship, saying that their friendship was a friendship of visual geniuses, and Mingyu said that he really liked it how that sounded. How did they get to be such good friends? Seventeen’s Mingyu explained that he was the same age as ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo, and since their dorms were close to each other, Mingyu was often visited Cha Eun-woo.
