Movie: Always (2011)
In 2011, So Ji-sub starred in the film Always, along with Han Hyo-joo. The film was released on October 20th, 2011. In the film, So Ji-sub acted as Jang Cheol-min, a former boxer with a dark and mysterious past who picks up a part-time night job as a parking lot attendant. He then meets Han Hyo-joo’s character, Ha Jung-hwa, a cheerful blind woman who mistook him for the previous parking attendant. They soon become attached to each other. He then goes back to being a boxer to earn more money. The scene when his character practices with the pull-up bar has literally melted his fans, as he is showing his nice upper body.
Giordano’s 2011 Ad Campaign
For several years, So Ji-sub has been the brand ambassador of Giordano, the well-known international retailer of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories. The other ambassadors were actress Shin Min-ah and actor Jung Woo-sung. During winter ads campaign in 2011, So Ji-sub revealed his chocolate abs and of course made his fans drool.
“Eraser” Music Video
Aside from being an actor, So Ji-sub is also well-known for being a hip-hop lover. He even released a few tracks in his career. On January 23rd, 2013, So Ji-sub released his mini album 6 o’clock… Playing Field and the music video for the title song “Eraser.” The music video featured So Ji-sub, Park Shin-hye, and Yoo Seung-ho. In the music video, Yoo Seung-ho and So Ji-sub play the same character. Yoo Seung-ho is So Ji-sub’s younger version. Yoo Seung-ho and Park Shin-hye are dating, but she decides to leave him to pursue her dreams. Later when he is older (So Ji-sub) he once again meets Park Shin-hye who has become a celebrity. In the music video, So Ji-sub showed off his abs again.
Marmot’s 2014 Ad Campaign
So Ji-sub became the model for Marmot’s Fall/Winter 2014 Ad campaign. Marmot is an outdoor clothing and sporting goods company. In the picture, So Ji-sub wore an unzipped red jacket and black pants. You can see his abs underneath the unzipped jacket. Even just wearing a jacket and pants, he exudes a strong charm of manliness.
Series Oh My Venus (2015)
In 2015, So Ji-sub reunited with his fellow Giordano ambassador, actress Shin Min-ah in the television series Oh My Venus. The series aired on KBS2 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:55 PM, for 16 episodes, from November 16th, 2015, to January 5th, 2016. So Ji-sub acted as Kim Young-ho, a personal trainer to Hollywood stars. He suffered a devastating illness in his childhood. In his first appearance in the drama, Kim Young-ho is working out by using a pull-up bar and other pieces of equipment. After working out, he then takes a bath. The scene where he is taking off the T-shirts and soaks himself in the bathtub is really sexy. From all the pictures above, which one do you like best?
