Plum Entertainment revealed, “It has only been about half a month since the two started dating, so we’re very cautious about the reports.” It seemed the agencies wanted to be considerate and sensitive to the personal affairs of the two celebrities. The statement closed by asking fans to support the couple in this new relationship. “Both celebrities met for the first time last October; please send them blessings,” read statements from both VAST Entertainment and Plum Entertainment. Once their respective agencies confirmed the news, Hyun Bin and Kang So-ra were not afraid to date the public. Even though both of them were busy with film projects, they still made time to be together. In April 2017, for example, they attended a musical drama together. In fact, when Hyun Bin had any chance at all, he would spend time with Kang So-ra, even just for lunch.
So, why did Hyun Bin and Kang So-ra break up?

Plum Actors stated, “We spoke with Kang So-ra, and she has confirmed that she and Hyun Bin ended their relationship recently.” VAST Entertainment also released an official statement that read, “We have confirmed that Hyun Bin and Kang So-ra recently broke up after drifting apart due to their busy schedules. They ended the relationship on good terms and will continue to support each other as fellow actors.” Sources from their closest friends reported, “The two are very reserved and don’t talk much, so they don’t really bring each other up in public events, but all of their friends know that they’ve broken up.” Hyun Bin was last seen in The Swindler, which was released in November 2017 in South Korea. He previously dated Song Hye-kyo, who is now married to Song Joong-ki. Even when Hyun Bin and Kang So-ra were dating, Song Hye-kyo prayed for their relationship to go well and become serious enough for them to consider getting married, just like what happened to her and Song Joong-ki. Even though Im Joo Hwan is getting the entirety of the glaring sun on him, he is still demonstrating extraordinary care for Kang So-ra. Also, after showcasing many romantic scenes in the drama, there were questions concerning Kang So-ra and Im Joo Hwan’s state of relationships. On September 17th, 2016, the MBC show We Got Married a Chuseok special, where the couples took an interest in a “couple survival” event and went up against one another through a few rounds. During the scene, Park Mi Sun and Leeteuk went about as MCs for the first-round game. For the second round of cooking standoff, cooking master Lee Hye Jung joined the two MCs as a judge. While the caring couples cooked pleasantly together, MC Leeteuk watched them enviously. Before their dishes were assessed, he stated, “Sora, I miss you,” shouting to his other half of the “dimple couple” from when they were on the show until September 2012. Meanwhile, Kang So-ra had also voiced her thanks toward her virtual spouse, Leeteuk, on the July 1st, 2012 broadcast of MBC’s Section TV Entertainment Relay. When asked if she had any thoughts regarding marriage, Kang Sora replied, “Leeteuk Oppa satisfies me 120 percent. In 2019, during a public interview, when Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin were asked about the dating rumor, Hyun Bin said, “As should be obvious, we ignored it. It didn’t influence or burden me in performing my work. We cooperated, and we were friends on account of the work.” While Son Ye Jin stated, “I agree. Hyun Bin explained everything correctly. I likewise needed to work with him in a good romantic drama or parody.
