Story of Park Jin-young Establish JYP

In 1997, the company signed its first artist, female solo artist, Pearl. In 1999, SidusHQ introduced singer-songwriter and JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young as their producer and mentor. In December 2000, JYP Entertainment recruits Rain as a trainee, who two years later debuted as a singer. He was the first Korean Global solo artist that expanded outside of South Korea and became successful worldwide. Then, Rain built a subsidiary label named J. Tune Entertainment. On December 27th, 2002, JYP company’s first boy group, a four-member vocal-oriented group Noel debuted, but they failed to get the public’s attention. In 2003 and in 2004, JYP shifted its focus to the duo brothers One Two. Then the boy band g.o.d. signed a contract with JYP Entertainment after their contract with Sidus HQ ended. g.o.d has gotten four Grand Prizes for Best K-Pop Group Artists. In May 2006, JYP successfully debuted its first girl group, Wonder Girls. Then in 2008, JYP created the competitive reality series Hot Blood Men to debuted a new boy group. The winning group, One Day, was later split into two boy bands, 2PM and vocal group 2AM. The two groups debuted in the same year. JYP Entertainment and Big Hit Entertainment jointly contracted to promote 2AM’s activities. In 2010, JYP Entertainment acquired J. Tune Entertainment, the agency that belonged to Rain. In 2010 JYP also successfully debuted another new girl group Miss A with their debut song “Good Girl, Bad Girl.”
