BIGBANG’s T.O.P’s Military Service

Choi Seung-hyun, who’s also known as BIGBANG rapper T.O.P, as well as for being a song writer/actor, recently began his mandatory military service duty. After resuming his position before as a conscripted policeman from February until June 5, 2017, in Gangnam Police Station. T.O.P’s Mandatory Military Duty as a Public Service Worker!

In 2017, T.O.P was suspended from his military duties because of a scandal relating to his having smoked marijuana with a YG Entertaiment trainee, Han Seo-hee, who was known to be his girlfriend at the time. Following that scandal, T.O.P received 10 months in prison and a 2 year suspension. Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, leading Ministry of Defense gave T.O.P a sentence of probation for two years, and reassigned him as a public service worker. According to the official Yongsan officer, the police station where T.O.P served his military duty now is very pleased with his performance, and said he works hard at his tasks. About 3 months ago, Naver reported that BIGBANG’s T.O.P was spotted by fans taking out the trash at the Yongsan Craft Center. Fans have given positive reactions to his behavior and for taking responsibility for his duties while in his military service.  T.O.P has about 220 days left of his mandatory military service, and is scheduled to be discharged in June, 2019, when he’ll be returning to his group as a Kpop idol star.
