Choo Ja-hyun gave birth to a baby boy on June 1st, 2018 at a hospital in Seoul, South Korea. Her agency, BH Entertainment stated, “Early this morning, Choo Ja-hyun gave birth to a healthy baby boy at a hospital in Seoul. Both the mother and baby are healthy, and they are stabilizing and recovering at the moment. Despite Yu Xiaoguang’s busy schedule of going back and forth from Korea to China, he was able to be with Chu Ja Hyun and experience the wonderful moment of the birth of their child with her.” Choo, who married Chinese actor Yu Xiaoguang in January 2017, was sent to the emergency room soon after showing signs of spasms and unstable blood pressure levels after giving birth. She reportedly had to rely on a ventilator for some time. Her agency, BH Entertainment released an official statement on June 4th and said, “After giving birth in the early hours of the day last Friday, Choo Ja-hyun experienced spasms late that night. She was rushed to the emergency room and received treatment for her symptoms and is currently recuperating.” They later added, “The exact cause of her symptoms is currently being examined, and she is following her doctor’s recommendations and focusing on resting. Her husband, Yu Xiaoguang, is taking care of her, and their baby is very healthy.”

The artist couple who met through a Chinese drama, Choo Ja-Hyun and Yu Xiaoguang, welcomed their first baby in 2018. Choo Ja-hyun gave birth to a baby boy early in the morning in Seoul. Their agency shared a statement, “Early this morning, Choo Ja-hyun gave birth to a healthy baby boy at a hospital in Seoul. Both the mother and baby are healthy, and they are stabilizing and recovering at the moment.” Her husband, Yu Xiaoguang also shared a photo of the baby on his Weibo page with the caption, “Today, another man who will love my wife has been born in this world. Both of them are gifts given to me by heaven. I hope all the children will have a happy ‘Children’s Day’.”
