1. Shownu’s Ideal Type

Hyungwon
Let’s start with Hyungwon’s dating issue. Fans have gathered proof of Hyungwon relationship with news anchor Kim Yoonhee, most of it coming from Kim Yoonhee’s posts on her Facebook and Instagram account. In 2014, one of Kim Yoonhee’s posts on her Facebook mentions Hyungwon’s name in the caption about her graduation, where she thanked him for coming. On her Instagram account, Kim Yoonhee had uploaded many photos or captions related to Hyungwon or Monsta X’s fandom, MONBEBE. In response to Kim Yoonhee’s action, some fans sent her direct messages telling her to stop showing off her relationship with Hyungwon. After that, Kim Yoonhee posted an Instagram Story, where she stated that she has been living quietly for the past 4 years and fans’ acts towards her just made her want to do whatever she wants. Another piece of evidence came from Hyungwon’s friend’s blog post. Hyungwon’s friend uploaded a screenshot of his conversation with Hyungwon on KakaoTalk and everyone can see Hyungwon sent a picture of him and his alleged girlfriend, Kim Yoonhee. Monsta X’s agency, Starship Entertainment released a statement saying that the two of them had broken up in early 2016 and they told fans to stop spreading false rumors, or they will take legal action against it. However, fans are angry because the one who keeps showing signs and spreading false rumors is Kim Yoonhee herself.
I.M
Back in March this year, there was a rumor about I.M dating his fellow label mate, Cosmic Girls’ Luda. It started when netizens gather some facts about them. First, Luda described her ideal type as someone left-handed that can use chopsticks well. It’s a well known fact among Monsta X’s fans that I.M is a left-handed and he is good at using chopstick. Another hint is during a broadcast, I.M somehow blurted out Cosmic Girls’ (in Korean it’s wujuseonyeo) catchphrase ‘Would You Like’ (if you pronounce it in Korean it sounds like wujuraik) and started dancing to Cosmic Girls’ choreography. And since Luda’s ideal type is too detailed, netizens speculated there is something going on between the two of them, but there is no further information regarding the truth of this rumor.
