Ex-Trainee of SM Entertainment
Back in 2012, while EXO’s debut was being prepared, rumors started to spread, along with some photos of potential members of the group (before the final line-up was decided), that Timoteo, whose real name is Moonkyu, was originally a trainee of SM Entertainment is supposed to debut with EXO. Not only was he rumored of debuting as a member of EXO, but further back in time, it was said that Timoteo was a trainee candidate who is supposed to debut with SHINee. However, he failed both SHINee and EXO. After that, he left SM Entertainment and joined his current agency and made his debut as a member of Hotshot.
Idol Friends
After his training period in SM Entertainment, Timoteo became friends with the members of SHINee and EXO. According to SHINee’s Taemin, they have a squad along with BTS’s Jimin as well. On some occasions, they hang out and spend time together. SHINee’s Taemin himself is the best friend of BTS’s Jimin and seems like Timoteo and Jimin know each other through Taemin. Another proof of their friendship is when Timoteo joined a program titled The Unit where Taemin became the judge of the contestant. The program is offering a second chance to idols who have already debuted but are less recognized, to try again and make a second debut with the final group formed by the program. Timoteo and another Hotshot member, Hojung, joined the program and right before they performed, Taemin suddenly turned around and hid his sadness for seeing his friend struggling. Especially in the program, the contestants had to call the judges with “senior”, which made Taemin emotional.
