In May 2015, media outlets reported that Beenzino is currently dating a foreign model named Stefanie Michova. They have been hanging out since late 2014 and was captured by the paparazzi during one of their days out. Later, Beenzino’s mother was interviewed by 10asia about her son’s girlfriend, saying that she likes Stefanie as Beenzino’s girlfriend. Contrary to his previous statement, Beenzino started to open up about his girlfriend in June 2015 as he uploaded a picture of his girlfriend playing in an internet cafe for their date. In October 2015, Beenzino appeared on jTBC’s Witch Hunt and was asked about his girlfriend. He asked the netizens to leave hateful comments in English instead of Korean, “I have to translate all of her hateful comments for her because she wants to know them. If you’re going to leave a hateful comment, please write it in English”. His request gained even more hateful comments, though in funny nuance as most of the comments are spelling out Korean in English such as, ‘Siru gichana (no, I’m too lazy)’, ‘binzino yeochin baboddonggae (Beenzino’s girlfriend is a dumb poop dog)’, and ‘Nega mot harjul r go (you thought I would not be able to, huh?)’. In July 2016, Beenzino showed up on KBS2’s Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook and talked about his girlfriend. He said that announcing a public relationship is much easier than a secret one, “I am the type of person that has to go to places that are so revealing and a relationship to the public is easier for us”. Moreover, Beenzino said that dating Stefanie Michova has changed his traits, “It was during a time when I let fame get to my ego, but after I met her I changed. She made me modest and humble”. In late December 2016, Beenzino shared his girlfriend’s characteristic which surprised him the most during his appearance on Video Star. The rapper said that after dating Stefanie Michova, he got to travel a lot and go to the airport often, just like his past wish. Beenzino made it again to the headline of media outlets in January 2017 after posting a selfie with his sleeping girlfriend. The controversial selfie gained negative reactions from the netizens who call him as the male Sulli, as well as protesting the motives intended to take such photo, ‘What’s the point of selfie like this? Show off that he’s sleeping with a white girlfriend that others can’t have? And why is he even randomly taking a selfie instead of sleeping?’, ‘I thought positively of him but he’s quite weird… of all the pictures to upload, why one in bed together? In March 2017, Beenzino and Stefanie Michova looks intimate in the backstage of Beenzino’s solo concert. There is also a picture of the couple posing with Beenzino’s parents.
